Thank you for your replies but oh dear, what do people do on sea days?

On T.A.'s there is Trivia, 2, maybe 3 times a day, free Zumba, lectures, a place set aside for self directed cards and games, ballroom and line dancing classes, movies, afternoon tea, cooking show with the head chef, cocktail & fruit carving demonstrations, maybe horse racing,  and yes can't forget bingo.

In addition to those things, here are some other things that may be available to do on sea days, depending on your ship:

- Puzzle/brainteaser sheets in the library

- Book club

- Casino lessons

- High Seas Heist

- Escape Room

- Wine tasting events

- Arts& Craft classes (jewelry making, paper quilling, cross stitch, card making, origami, box making, etc.)

- Photography lessons

- Music lessons (e.g. harmonica, ukulele)

- Egg Drop challenge

- Paper airplane challenge

- Speed sudoku

- Ping pong

- Mini golf (some ships have a putting green, some offer putting challenges in the Piazza)

- Lifesize chessboard

- Corn hole challenge

- Bridge & Mahjong get-togethers

- Spa appointments

- The Sanctuary

- Art auctions

- Taboo (in one of the lounges)

- Pictionary (in one of the lounges)

- Win Lose or Draw (in one of the lounges)

- Scattegories (in one of the lounges)

- Karaoke

- Ice carving demonstrations

- Cocktail mixing demonstrations

- Regional lectures and demonstrations

- Behind the scenes tours

- "Knitters Natters & Crafters" get-togethers (BYO projects)

- Bible study

- Future cruise presentations (where they talk about different destinations, what to see/do there, etc.)

Or, I don't see why you couldn't bring a portable easel, canvas and paint set and set up on your balcony or maybe even somewhere else and paint away. 🙂

Thank you so much for your comprehensive reply. There are several activities on the list that appeal, I am pretty sure we won’t be bored.

I can't believe a list so long and exhaustive is one short:

- Princess Pop Choir. That's my go-to activity for sea days.

Great job, Dani.

Basically MJSailors we have the time and resources because we are both in our eighties and have worked hard all our lives. The cruise is to celebrate 60 years of marriage, so special I us. Sorry but you touched a nerve.

Sorry to have upset you.

I truly meant that you are very fortunate as both my DH and I are as well.

We are both retired after long careers and are able to travel frequently.

At present, we are in our sixties and have been married for 38 years.

We can only hope that we can continue to travel and enjoy our time spent together.

Wishing you both well, my apologies for hitting a nerve with you.

Hello Londonpride- We have a resort stay in Bermuda this Nov. We plan to play golf at the Fairmont Southampton Princess. This will be our fourteenth visit to Bermuda since our honeymoon.

Then in March,we plan to by on the Sky Princess to the Caribbean. That vacation is about the new ship since we have visited the ports many times.

If you notice, I said plan...

Last February we were on a flight to Florida when my DH lost conscience as we were taxiing to the runway.

Luckily a doctor on board immediately came to help him and he was taken by ambulance to an emergency room.

We spent the month of March and part of April going to specialists and having tests to determine the cause of his collapse.

Fortunately, it was determined that it was due  to several factors, one being dehydration that was the cause.

So, we began planning again for future travels. With prayer and fingers crossed,we will be able to enjoy our planned vacations. If not,we will go with the flow and always hope for the best.

Wishing you and your spouse good days !

We were on the Crown in FEB 2019 and they had some "free style" water color painting opportunities set up in the main piazza area. Wife and sister in-law went thinking it was a class. It was actually set up with supplies and anyone was welcome to paint. They had a great time and painted whatever came to mind. Some people painted scenes from photos they had taken while on shore.

Londonpride, I usually enjoy the photography classes that are held on sea days. They are taught by one of the professionals in the art photography studio. I love to take photos but am still learning so this works for me. These are serious classes with lots of technical details.

Just my suggestion, take it as you will:

On your roll call ask if anyone is interested in games. I learned MEXICAN TRAIN  on my last cruise and they played everyday (16 day cruise, 10 sea days).  Others were playing Bridge, canasta, Mahjong .... not all the time but whenever sometime less interesting was put on by the ship.

I also love to just listen to the musicians
