mbw1024 Posted June 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2019 Hi, we haven’t cruised in a while so I am off my game! Have a few questions. i am a bariatric patient and can’t have a lot of high sugar drinks so trying to be creative. We have premium beverage package but I cannot have carbonated beverages so trying to think of options I can mix with vodka. Can you still send a pack of beverages to your stateroom when you check in? I was thinking of getting Bai waters to send to stateroom. what are my ice options? Can i fill my tervis cup in the buffet area? Premium package includes bottled water, right? Are the bottles 16oz? I can also carry powered drink mixes to add to water. Thanks.

PAcruise16 Posted June 2, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2019 Not sure if you can do a small amount of sweetened lemonade, but I'm a fan of vodka, unsweetened tea, and lemonade. Cheers!

I supplement with other choices on board but am not restricted for fiizzies!

mbw1024 Posted June 2, 2019 Author #15 Share Posted June 2, 2019 Thanks all. Yes, I drink wine but not usually during the day. Honestly, I drink very little anymore but want to go in with a few ideas so I don’t go too far off track while sailing. thanks !

JaneStarr Posted June 3, 2019 #17 Share Posted June 3, 2019 How about something like individual Crystal Lite packets to add into a bottle of water to use as mixers? They are easy to carry and come in many flavors. Here’s a picture. Jane 1
varoo Posted June 3, 2019 #18 Share Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) If you want sugar-free cranberry juice, I would suggest bringing your own. We requested it in advance when we were in a royal suite (where they ask in advance what beverages you would like to have), but they apologetically claimed that they were unable to obtain it. We wondered if they even tried, since it is usually available at supermarkets in the USA. As for ice, just ask your stateroom attendant for an ice bucket, and a water pitcher as well, if you want it. They are typically refilled twice each day, when they service the room, or at other times upon request. Or, if you like, you can always refill them yourself up at the buffet. Rare markeb Posted June 3, 2019 #19 Share Posted June 3, 2019 Are you set on vodka? Some of the classic whisk(e)y drinks contain no carbonated mixers, and the sweetness is from another alcohol (usually sweet vermouth). The obvious ones are the Manhattan (Bourbon or preferably rye whiskey with sweet vermouth) and a Rob Roy (Scotch whisky and sweet vermouth). Old Fashioneds and Sazeracs unfortunately begin with a sugar cube... Just another thought.
sailorfool57 Posted June 3, 2019 #20 Share Posted June 3, 2019 I also can't have carbonation, so I generally stick with vodka and lemonade, or gin and lime juice. I think I have signed up for the premium drink package, so I will slip in an old-fashioned or two during the cruise. I'm trying to watch my sugar, too, but I relax the rules a bit when I'm away from home. That being said, while on vacay, it's a bloody mary with breakfast and a glass of wine for dinner. I've never had a drink package before----this could be dangerous!
