Anyone Know What the White Space Is?

This is a screenshot of the Island, Baja deck, mid-ship. Does anyone know what the white space behind the stairs is? Cleaning cart storage, laundry room, or something else? I’m considering a cabin in this bump-out area of Baja but would like to know what this space is before I commit.

It is space used by the crew - most likely cleaning cart storage (as you said). The white space behind the lifts is the crew lifts.

It may be the storage room for all the room steward's supplies but it also may be used for luggage on embarkation / disembarkation day.  We were in this location on another Princess ship and it was only noisy on the last night of the cruise as the door to that white space was directly across from our cabin door.

If you are going to choose a bump out....better to be the last rather than the first.  The cabin at the front of the bump out will catch (break) all of wind.  You will get much less wind by being sheltered from the first bump out.

 

Also some white areas (don't remember which deck) is Room Service.

Had a cabin on one Princess ship ( maybe Emerald)  which was opposite a White space...was very noisy with crockery clattering, early morning, presume it was Room service area.

 

Wouldn't book again unless you are a heavy sleeper.

The best bet is passenger cabins above, below, and across the corridor.  That white space may be a storage area for cleaning carts or a scullery.  No sense in taking a chance.

Now, what may or may not take place in these spaces is anyone’s guess.

That photo looks like deck 4 - not a small crew area on a passenger deck.

Since the white area is on all decks from 12 down....past deck 5

could be a services shaft (ventilation. pipes. trash chute...etc).

 

or a white space.....
