Sorry.  My cruise isn't March 2020, it's March 2021!  Way far away.  Just wonder if I can apply for the SH credit now, just in case they decide to change it back.

I just applied this morning for my two  Ovation of the Seas cruises in Apr/May 2021.  We'll see what they have to say.  🍷

My B2B booked early this month for coming july was approved with $100.00 each.

This will be the first time I received OBC.Thanks for this board.

The time I made my booking my TA told me this will be the lowest prices offered and Shareholder Benefits is not eligible.👎

Congratulations.   Sometimes you need to keep pursuing.  My TA had no clue, but thanks to the folks on Cruise Critic, I'm hoping to get it also.  Haven't heard back from RCCL, but waiting with baited breath.  😉🍷

I submitted for the first 1/2 of my Oct B2B (to test the waters) that was booked in December.  The res has a Celebrity OBC promo (not part of the GOBxxx perks).  I'm happy to say they applied $100 additional OBC.

I submitted the res I booked today which also has the same promo so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Then I will submit the second 1/2 of the Oct B2B which has the same promo as the first 1/2 but also has the B2B discount (The first leg wasn't eligible for the B2B discount as it's only 6 days).

I have a feeling that it's going to be like everything else at corporate.  It will be consistently inconsistent.

Anyway thanks to this thread I'm up at least $100.

Being optimistic and hoping I'll get my big $50 OBC, is the SH OBC refundable?  I was reading a different thread about OBCs and I'm not sure what I'll be able to use where or when.

My booking came with $300 OBC.  I have no idea what fare offer my TA booked.  My confirmation shows the fare, then under it YUO1 savings of $400 backed out, then the grats & that backed out, then drinks w/that also backed out.  It's a really good fare for a solo.  Plus, it also shows OBC of $300.  When I go to X's website, it shows that I have that $300 OBC and can use it to prepurchase stuff which I can't do this far in advance.  Nothing shows up as available, even an upgrade to the drinks package, which I plan on doing.

My TA is also giving $100 OBC which, of course, doesn't show up anywhere.

I'm thinking the $300 from X is going to be nonrefundable, but the $100 from my TA and hopefully $50 SH will be.

Without drinks or tips to pay, I'm just not sure how I'll use all that OBC.  I don't shop onboard.  I do gamble but I don't know if I can use any/all of that OBC in the casino.

Maybe I should start a separate thread!

None of the OBC you have listed here will be refundable.  I would contact your TA and find out exactly what perks you have.  This non-refundable OBC will just be applied as a credit to your seapass account.  Anything you spend will be debited from this account.  If you happen to have other OBC from your TA which is refundable don't worry the non-refundable is automatically debited first.  OBC won't be posted until about day 2 of the cruise and can be seen on your account which can be viewed on the TV in your stateroom.  OBCN is non-refundable, OBCR is refundable.

Yes you can use this OBC in the casino.  For slots just go to the cage and they will load it on your seapass card which is inserted into the machines and you can transfer $$ to the machine.  For table games you can just give them your card and they will provide chips.  The only caveat is you can't just immediately cash out.  Basically you MUST bet the OBC but any "winnings" can be cashed out.  If you do a search there are many threads about using OBC in the casino.

If your TA is only giving you $100 OBC, I would look for another one.  You should be able to get 10% of your cruise costs after you deduct the taxes and port charges.  🍷

After this cruise I’m needing to find a new TA. Do you mind emailing me the name of your TA that gives you the 10%?

tromvest@aol.com

Thanks so much!

Different people need different things from a TA.   If you are an inexperienced traveler or just want someone to handle all the details for you, then a full service TA is probably a good idea.  If you have taken many Celebrity cruises like many of us on here then the volume TA's who give the maximum OBC from their commissions can be very beneficial but you really can't expect them to spend a bunch of time with you.

Yesterday I booked a cruise with my TA in less than 5 minutes, it was after final payment so he took my credit card and he is done with me.

A few weeks ago Celebrity canceled my 1/31/2020 cruise and the compensation offer was unacceptable.  While he spent a bit of time doing battle with Celebrity, in the end he gave them permission to deal with me directly and I had to make my arguments up the food chain at Celebrity and finally was given something satisfactory.  In the past I had a full service agent who handled this sort of conflict with corporate via her Celebrity regional sales team.

I all does come down to what you need/expect from an agent.

I emailed my request on Tuesday for Shareholder Benefit OBC, and this morning for my 25 April and 8 May 2021 cruises and I received the following response from them:

Thank you for contacting our Shareholder Benefit Team. As a valued shareholder and guest, you are very important to us. On behalf of our company, it is my pleasure to respond to your correspondence.

We applied your Shareholder Benefit onboard credit to your bookings (13-night cruise) and (14-night cruise) for $100.00 and $250.00 respectively. While your onboard credits have been added, it may not immediately appear on your SeaPass folio on the first day of your cruises. Please allow up to two days into your sailings for the credit to reflect on your account.

Thank you again for choosing to sail with us. We hope you and your wife have two wonderful cruises.

Sincerely,

🍷

Excellent!  I'll wait until next week when I have my 2nd qtr statement and send it in.

Do I have my TA do this?  For CCL, I always just black out the stuff they don't need and email it.  I imagine I can find the submission info on RCI's website (if not on X's).

As for the TA OBC, I used to just book directly with the cruiselines and got only what any particular offer entailed.  I only started using a TA in the past couple of years to get group rates and OBC.  Considering that this is a 4-night sailing, I got a quite deep discount off the fare from X, drinks and grats included, plus $300 OBC, I think the $100 OBC from the TA is reasonable.

I'm not an inexperienced cruiser (>30 since 2001).  I prefer to stick with one person rather than spend my time shopping around to get a few dollars more OBC or some other perk.  I know that if I need something, she'll be available day or night.  She's been extremely helpful whenever I've had questions/changes/whatever.

Thanks.  I did find it on my own.

And, ftr, since my cabin (as a solo) is only $338 (plus taxes of $119), receiving $100 OBC from my TA is more than generous!  That plus drinks included, grats included, $300 OBC from X, and soon another $50 OBC as a SH.  They're practically paying me to sail! 😀

Not wishing to brag about the great deal; just wanted to point out that my TA's OBC of $100 is actually close to 25% of the fare!  I'll stick with her for a while.

I have two cruises scheduled as a b2b July and August. Long time shareholder, Elite Plus.

Oh well.

Received the same message from Shareholder relations :

Thank you for your email. As a valued shareholder, you are very important to us. The requested shareholder benefit onboard credit cannot be applied to reservations XXXXXXX as it is confirmed with a [BEVOBCWIFI] price code that is not combinable with the Shareholder Benefit program.

We hope you have an enjoyable cruises.

Kind Regards,

Well.....  I have 3 cruises, 1 in Aug just booked this week and a B2B in Oct booked last December all senior discount without the Goxxxx promo but including another Celebrity OBC promo code.  As I reported last week 1 of my Oct cruises was accepted and yesterday the Aug one was.  Both of these were processed by Denise.  Today I received a rejection for the other Oct cruise processed by Jehudy.    Maybe I'll resubmit next week.

I have 10 cruises booked, and only the last two, booked after 1 June 2019, qualify for the Shareholder Benefit.

So, if you booked prior to 1 June 2019, no sense in crying over spilled milk.  🍷

Why did you only get $100 shareholder credit for your 13 day cruise, Wine-O?  Shouldn't it be $200?  We applied for our 10 day April, 2019 cruise a short while before sailing and we got $200.  We were very pleased.  It seems some have gotten the benefit for cruises booked before June 1 2019.

Lucky you with 10 cruises booked.  How do you keep them all straight?

You probably got your $200 under the old program and you didn't combine?  Under the new program, you can combine OBC, but they are only giving $100 for 13 days or less.  🍷

We usually cruise on Azamara and haven't gotten the shareholder benefit in many years. It is never combinable with any promotion, and Azamara always has some promotion.

This is our first Celebrity cruise in a long time. I read this thread and applied for the shareholder benefit. I was amazed that with all the perks and a super discount price that we got the it. We heard back from Celebrity in less than 2 days. Sure, it's only $100 dollars.  But it's MY $100.😉

Thanks to cruise critic members once again.

When was your booking date?   Can you tell me the name of the person who approved it?  I'm testing a theory.   I have a B2B in Oct and got it on one sailing and not on the other, processed by different people.
