Regal Suite Dreams

We will be sailing from New York on the Regal Princess on 31st October - beyond excited!   DH does not know that I have booked a full suite!!!  I have read that on some ships, or at least from some ports, that you are escorted on to the ship.  Does anyone know if this happens at Brooklyn?  Also, does Club Class have a luncheon on embarkation day?  Many thanks for any replies.

Don't miss breakfast at Sabatini's. It's for suites only. Not flooded with Elites. I doubt if you will be escorted to your room.

Celebrity does so when you are in the Penthouse. They collected our hand luggage and escorted us to the concierge lounge where we waited a short while for the room to be ready. Then, the butler escorted us to the room.

I can't help you on the escort at Brooklyn question.  Club Class lunch will be available on embarkation day.

Since you are on a Royal-class ship, let me mention what has become my favorite suite amenity--the Suite Concierge Lounge.  We availed ourselves of this on our Royal Princess cruise, last month.  In our suite there were keys that allowed us access to this lounge.  It is a quiet place to get away from the general hubbub of the rest of the ship.  They seem to have coffee and noshes--cheeses, sandwiches, sweets--available throughout the day.  On our cruise they were serving cocktails in the late afternoon.  That surprised, me, and it was, in fact, a test.  I thought it was very nice, and I hope that it was considered a success and is expanded to all cruises on all the Royal-class ships.  The concierge will offer to help with any question you may have.  We used him to make several dining reservations for us.

Hello,  I have not been to Brooklyn port; however my last two times in a suite, both in Seattle and Fort Lauderdale in Feb; we were escorted onto the ship. In Fort Lauderdale someone from Princess met us after security; looked at our medallion and saw we were in a suite; then a gentleman from the ship escorted us to the elite lounge.  We waited there until boarding started; the same gentleman was waiting outside the elite lounge then escorted us onto the ship.  He asked where we wanted to go first; we told him the world market buffet; he then walked us to elevator pushed the button up and we exited the elevator right at entrance to buffet

If I ever booked a suite (highly unlikely unless win a lottery), I'd be asking that gentleman how fast he could get to The Sanctuary to book me a chair.  LOL.

The Grand Princess when in San Francisco seems to be the only ship that is consistent with the suite escort on embarkation day based on comments over the last couple of years here on CC.

Have never seen comments for that on any other ships.

We have never had it on the Regal or in NY.

Thanks for your responses. How can they tell from your medallion that you are in a suite?  Do you have,a special colour?  Funnily enough I got an email yesterday saying our medallions had been despatched but I did not think they would send to Scotland??  We leave on Tuesday so may not arrive on time!

The Medallion is not marked for a suite. Only Captain Circle status color.

They only ship them to the US.

The Princess reps at the port have ipads; they saw on their ipad that spouse and I were in a suite

The email I got said that the medallion has been shipped by a company called Arc Best. When I put the tracking number in it does not recognize the number. Not to worry...I can access the app and see we have zumba at 9am!  Mimosa then zumba.....😁

Most of the comments I have read about shipping notifications was an email saying it was shipped but it was actually already delivered at the same time.

That happened to me twice.

I'm on your cruise but currently on the previous one...we just sailed away 2 hrs ago. I'm in a Penthouse suite and there was NO escort. I've sailed in suites on Princess, Celebrity and Oceania...never had an escort (don't need one either).

Leaving NYC while hanging out on my aft balcony (with many others on their balconies) was beautiful!!!🗽

We were escorted onto the Caribbean Princess last October in Ft Lauderdale. This was very nice (and very awkward) because the line to board was seriously backed up due to scheduled coast guard inspection. Our escort took us past everyone in line.  Then it was funny, because he didn't believe that there were suites on the Fiesta deck. We had been in the same window suite previously, so we knew where it was!

We were not escorted to our penthouse suite on the Caribbean Princess last January in Ft. Lauderdale.  This benefit must be a hit or miss thing.

Interesting. We sailed the CB  right before you in August and 4 other times last year and did not experience the escort.  🤔
Another fleet disconnect. 🙄

It is truly amazing how many staff do not know about the Window Suites.  I have encountered, more than once, the elevator "driver" telling me that there were no passenger cabins on Fiesta Deck.

Hi Go-Bucks - Is there cocktails in the Concierge Lounge that XBGuy mentioned?

Sounds as though you get lost easily.

I do have problems with my vision, if that is what you mean.  As my DH does not know that I have booked a full suite, it would have been great to get an escort to add to the surprise - but also to lead the way....
