Jorg_ Posted November 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2019 We’ll be on Equinox soon. I read somewhere that you can check out a towel for the beach with your Sea Pass. For any towel not returned, you will be charged a fee. How does this work? Where do you collect the towels? We were on Reflection in January, and we just went by the pool area on board, grabbed some towels and then walked off the ship. No questions ever asked. CHEZMARYLOU Posted November 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2019 No need to check out towels on Celebrity's ships. If your cabin attendant does not leave them the night before just take one from the pool deck and be sure to return it.
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted November 1, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2019 I haven't been on a Celebrity ship since last year so things may be different now but I do not recall having to check out/check in a towel to take to the beach. In fact, I believe they are already in the SR. We were in a suite so it may be a little different. What I do recall was there is a large towel bin area on the pool deck where you can take a towel and return it as well. I just don't remember having to use my card to get one. Hopefully someone else with more recent experience will chime in.
PelicanLvr Posted November 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2019 One Beach Towel per person is usually left by your room steward on your bed the night before the first port (beach) stop. These towels are much larger/plusher than the pool deck towels. The room steward exchanges them when left of for him/her to take. We leave ours on the balcony to keep the room cleaner. We also grab a pool towel each as an extra and just return these to the pool area each day. Do Not return the larger beach towel left by your room steward to the bin in the pool area .... you must exchange with the room steward or risk being charged. Speak to the room steward and set up a system. They will look for the "dirty" beach towel where you tell them you will leave them. No sea pass card involved. 1
vtcruising Posted November 1, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2019 This was in our cabin (actually a suite) in January on the Edge. I have never heard of anyone being charged, but I imagine people are very careful to return their towels! 🙂
Jorg_ Posted November 1, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted November 1, 2019 Thank you all for your replies. I just found that it is the Celebrity app that, for shore excursions, say ”Pool towels can be checked out with your Sea Pass card, but a $25 fee will be charged for unreturned towels”. barbette165 Posted November 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2019 There have been a few times when the Celebrity App mentions charges that don't actually exist - there was a thread shortly before the Edge launched that referred to a charge for room service (all-day, not just overnight). The conclusion was that the Celebrity App is a rework of the RCL App and some of the buried detail hasn't been adjusted between RCL and Celebrity policies. Luvcrusn Posted November 1, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 1, 2019 The only reference I've seen is a note similar to the one posted above that if you don't return the beach towels left in your room to your room for exchange you'll be charged. Don't return them to the bin when you return to the ship! You never need to check out or check in the pool towels.
