pmCruiser Posted November 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Can a bottle wine that was purchased in the main dining room (but not fully consumed) be retrieved and used in one of the specialty restaurants? How about the other way (i.e., purchased in a specialty restaurant and then retrieved in the main dining room)?
pjrockman Posted November 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2019 We’ve had no problems doing it in either direction. I’m sure someone will say they did have a problem; so, most likely it’s up to the Head Waiters and Maitre D on any given cruise at any given moment! allanna Posted November 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2019 You are given a card from the original restaurant you purchased the wine and it is transferred to any other restaurant that you are eating at No problems
memoak Posted November 2, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Yes all they need is the card from the original purchase. All the wines are kept in the same place
voljeep Posted November 2, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2019 how long to get the wine in a different venue than where you purchased it from ?

voljeep Posted November 2, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2019 yeah ... waitin' for a glass of wine for 20 minutes would be a problem ... that's why we usually stop at Vines pre-dinner and get a sippy cup to go ...
Steelers36 Posted November 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2019 (edited) And partly why I like to keep our bottles in the cabin. Another reason is they are there to have a glass from during the day if I feel like it. Edited November 2, 2019 by steelers36
kennicott Posted November 3, 2019 #9 Share Posted November 3, 2019 We do that a lot, most of the time no problem. The only time we use a card is when we purchase another bottle and we have a wine deal card that needs one more to be marked off. The only exception was one time on the Coral where the dining room crews were so terribly understaffed that it wasn't worth it to hold a bottle over since it took so long to find, regardless of the venue. Rare Ombud Posted November 3, 2019 #10 Share Posted November 3, 2019 My last cruise (Royal) I had supper primarily at Alfredos and they just recorded it by stateroom #. That's all MDR needed to retrieve it so are those cards going away? Cruise was Cabo San Lucas Getaway 5 nighter 10/14/19-10/19/19 But I like the idea of a Vines "sippy cup" --- better size
ams1130 Posted November 4, 2019 #11 Share Posted November 4, 2019 Okay, just for clarification, what is this sippy cup of which you speak? Does Vines just give a larger glass? Because I'd be all over a tumbler-size drink to go 😛
Rare geoherb Posted November 4, 2019 #12 Share Posted November 4, 2019 I did not have any problem getting the rest of my bottle from Alfredo's when I went to dinner on the Royal. I also started a bottle at lunch in the dining room one day and had it at dinner that night.
