pacruise804 Posted December 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Good morning everyone! I 'm reporting a disappointing small gain this week (1.2#), and the business of the holiday season isn't going to make it any easier 🙄I am fairly healthy though so I'm grateful 🙂 This is definitely a busy month for me - and we only celebrate Christmas. I know some who also observe Hanukkah (which I think also has a lot of food?) and there are probably others too. What, if anything, do you celebrate this time of year? Any fun traditions? I think my calendar has 6 parties, 1 cookie exchange, 1 round of caroling, decorating, wreaths to the cemetery😥, wrapping gifts, and a partridge in a pear tree 😄 I've certainly been enjoying music and looking forward to family time (even if we were all just together). Hope everyone is having a good week☃️
winewanderer Posted December 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Pacruise, thanks for starting the weekly thread. As you said, your gain was small. I think at this time of year we have to just do the best we can...... I gained 5 lbs. (yikes!) on my 3 week cruise that we came back from last week. I better get busy losing. next up is a 44 day South American cruise March 15th, 2020. I need to lose the 5 lbs. plus more...…... Have a good day everyone. Jan_In_Maine Posted December 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Pacruise - not a bad gain for the season. Diana - A 3 week cruise and only gained 5# ... not bad at all. I stayed the same ... which means I am still up 3.0# from our cruise. Perhaps next week will be better for us all. Jan
Cruiser_1977 Posted December 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Hey y'all sorry I've been MIA. I'm down a smidge (.4). I've been super busy since Thanksgiving. My nephew's Birthday was the third, I've had two get togethers and the rest of the month looks worse. I also overdid my workout on Tuesday and my back is very sore. I LOVE the holidays but boy it can get tiring. To give you all insight to my training below are a couple of recent workouts. Tuesday 5 sets of 1 push press/2 push jerks (55, 60, 65, 70 and 75lbs) 10 minutes - 15 jerks (65lbs) followed by power step ups 15 each leg. I got through 2 full rounds +7 jerks. 2 rounds of 15 hurdle jumps, 10 air squats and 10 kettlebell swings. Burned 528 calories Saturday 2 Rounds:24 Deadlifts 24 Box Jumps24 Dumbbell Push Press24 Bench Press 24 Box Jumps 24 Push Press24 Power Cleans Burned 364 Calories
pacruise804 Posted December 5, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted December 5, 2019 I forgot to wear my fitbit this morning, so there's no proof 😉 but I did walking group for an hour so at least 3 miles. Tonight is strength training and I will do 6 major muscle groups with 5 sets each of 12-15 reps. If I remember right from Monday: Legs - 12" box squat, body weight only but I also have balance issues Triceps - lying goblet press (definitely felt those the last 2 days), either 15 or 20# Biceps - concentration curls, attempted 25# but had to drop to 20 & even 15 - my wrist was hurting and wouldn't support the weight even though the muscle could do more Chest - incline press, 15# (I always seem to struggle with chest) Back - close grip overhand, started at 70# but dropped to 50# Shoulders - side raises, 10 or 12# I don't track calorie burn, but do generally work up a sweat.
bolt Posted December 5, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Tooooo much Thanksgiving for me I did mange to make it back to the same weight I was last Thursday so no gain/no loss. I have 2.5 months until my cruise would like to lose another 10 lbs.
winewanderer Posted December 6, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2019 So far, everyone has done pretty well this week. That's great. It's been raining like crazy where we live. Yesterday we had a dry, beautiful day, 62 degrees. I worked in the backyard for 3 hours. That was quite the workout. Diana
pacruise804 Posted December 6, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted December 6, 2019 I'm often surprised after a long day of yard work (weeding/raking) how sore I can be. Definitely a workout - and usually a lot of steps too 🙂
Belle Posted December 9, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2019 I'm Back..Did you miss me? Missed you all but wish I was back on the ships (everything being done for me) and being in the 80's everyday. Instead of cool weather (know warmer than some of you in snow) and the rain. Think we and other states are going to be a colder, rainier and snowier this winter. after having mild ones. I tried to check in a few times but the internet just working right on the 1st cruise (free) and 2nd cruise didn't buy any time. Had a great time, extra perks because 500 days on Princess and was a VIP Casino Party too. Was spoiled. 2nd cruise was a nice cruise too but a more quiet one. Time to relax and be waited on. Love that! Don't we all. Seems like you all have been doing pretty good with the Holidays months eating wise. Plus getting back to eating right if have gained. I will weigh-in on Thursday and see how I did. Not great timing because Wed. have a all day Christmas party that includes Breakfast, Lunch, snacks and wine and then maybe a light dinner! Jan and Diana hope you both had good cruises and whoever else was gone on a cruise or on a trip, hope you had a good time too. Hope to see more people coming in and talking more. Know hard at this time, everyone busy but maybe need more help at this time of the year. Know I need it after having all that food for 30 days. Hard to stop eating more at this time. So trying to drink more water and tea. What are you doing to eat less this Holiday Time.

pacruise804 Posted December 10, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted December 10, 2019 I'm happy you are back! I was actually getting a little concerned because I hadn't "seen" you in so long, so "Welcome Home" 🙂 Glad you enjoyed your cruises. Have a great time at your party, just try to make smart choices. I've had two parties so far with I think 5 to go - the struggle is real 😉 I had a great workout last night and should be busy enough the next few days that I won't have much time for snacking, so that should hopefully help some.
