Rare VMax1700 Posted December 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2019 With apologies for the delay this month, here is the latest update of the Dry Dock, Charter and Groups file. Not too much new activity, but with Europe 2021 now online the expectation is of more charters and groups over the coming months. The file consists of information gathered from the internet or information kindly posted on these threads by other cruisers and should not be considered a complete indicator of group activity. If you have information about groups charters or dry docks then please post here and I will update in the next file. Multiple professions, such as doctors, lawyers, teachers, CPAs etc., must have so many hours of continuing education in order to maintain their licensed status. Continuing education would probably be various classes aimed at achieving a certain number of points needed to maintain a license or to renew a license in these professions. I can't think of a better way of adding points than to take a cruise and attend a few classes. My husband who was a CPA did this once, and it was a great way for him to get some of the hours he needed to keep his license.

Rare VMax1700 Posted January 8, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted January 8, 2020 First off, let me wish everyone a happy new year and hope your cruising is as good as ever. Although I had hoped to post the January 2020 update for the Groups and Charters in the first few days of January, time has run out on me and I am heading off to Fort Lauderdale tonight to board Koningsdam on Sunday. 😁😎 I will post the update just as soon as possible after our return home. Sorry, and I promise to do better next time! 😂 2

bucky21 Posted January 8, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 8, 2020 Vmax1700 is my favorite poster. I look for that name several times a year for his (her) postings about large groups on future cruises. If anyone has ever had their own cruise affected, or sometimes downright ruined by these large groups overtaking the ship, then you can appreciate what I am talking about. I always look to the Vmax future groups on board posting before I book any future cruise. It is the most important and comprehensive information on the cruise critic site, IMHO. My personal thanks and extreme gratitude to you for all of the work that you do to make many cruisers decisions so much easier.

Under_Bored Duo Posted January 12, 2020 #16 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks for the updates! We just got off the Zuiderdam after 8 nights with no visible groups which was super. However we noticed there will be a knitting group on board our Atlantic coast Amsterdam cruise in May which is 11 nights. How many people might this consist of? We cannot imagine such a group would take over the ship?

Dunelm Posted January 13, 2020 #18 Share Posted January 13, 2020 A big thank you for posting this information. A couple of years ago we were on a cruise that had a large group of Turning Point folk. Our preference for late dining was changed after we had paid the full charge because the very large group needed late dining. Apparently, they had their own stage show early. The early show also resulted in the poorest attendance at any ship show (tongue twister) that I have ever seen. Apart from these hiccups, there were no other problems. senoragilbert Posted January 20, 2020 #19 Share Posted January 20, 2020 Thanks for putting this together. I was just looking at the pdf for ship amenities and noticed that Amsterdam will have the new Fuji photo shop and (!) interactive TVs after her drydock this spring. Hope this information helps flesh out the January report when you get back. I'm sure there are other clues on this sheet, I noticed the Amsterdam because we'll be on her in June/July. 🙂 HAL_Ships_at_a_Glance_Chart.pdf
