They Cancelled My Valor cruise BUT .. Love Carnival

Got an email this Morning that due to Dry Dock in 2021 Jan -March they would be cancelling our Valor Cruise . Only reason I was kind of upset in 25 plus cruises I had never sailed out New Orleans , that and the fact it was a REALLY cheap cruise due to a great casino rate they worked for me. But I called them on the casino line and the worked their magic and flipped us over the Glory basically the same week for almost the exact same price . Well like an extra $300 but this is a 7 day cruise compared to a 5 day cruise but same balcony room on the lido deck . plus an extra $50 OBC so Kudos to Carnival .

I'm glad you are happy with the new arrangements.

 

Carnival cancelled our Freedom cruise a couple of months ago.  We felt the new arrangements were fair financially but were somewhat disappointed with the substitute ship.  Still it's a cruise, the same itinerary, and the time frame we needed.

Wow i have a 5 day scheduled in January 2021 for the valor. Have not been notified. I forget the date but it is early January .

I wonder if it will return as the Valor... That seems to be a pretty long dry dock. Could the conquest class be the next to undergo a Sunrise, Sunshine, and Radiance type of transformation?

21 years in Ohio as RT . Driver .  Had to retire early because of cancer . I now live in TN.  But it was fun .  That is our plan think we will go 2 days early hang out  then go on the cruise.

No mention in the E mail and actually no exact dates . Just months .

I worked for 35 years as RSR in Mississippi for Frito-Lay.

Make sure you book your hotel early for New Orleans. And recommend staying in The French Quarter.

I second that recommendation. We did a land vacay to NOLA 4 years running during 4th of July weekend, and spent all of them in the French Quarter. It's a different world there. Our favorite was the Bienville House on Decatur St.

I’m sailing out of NOLA on February 2, but flying in January 30. Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in the French Quarter.

Mardi Gras is February 16, 2021.  So if you are booking hotels before then plan on high rates.  A lot of the Krewes will be having balls starting in January and carrying thry Mardi Gras day.

If French Quarter hotels are too pricey, I recently stayed at TownePlace Suites on Canal street. It was about a 5 minute walk to Bourbon St, straight shot. It was officially in the central business district.
