New Steakhouse Reservation

Has anyone used the new steakhouse reservation and already gone on the cruise? Now you have to pay for it when you make the reservation. I have not received an email with a confirmation. Will I? Is there a chance I have paid for this at the time and date I would prefer, but they are already booked up and we wont be able to have that reservation date and time? This is for a cruise that is next week and I feel like every date and time should not be available. 

 

Again, this is for the new reservation function. Not the old way where you had to get a confirmation email.

I had to prepay for a cruise in January.    Have not received an email   but when i go to the cruise planner and pull down that one day-- its listed

 

Also go into BOOKING and Order details  it lists everything I booked and purchased

just make reservations on board, no pre pay and they are never full

Yeah, I see it there. It just seems odd that all dates and times are available on a fully booked Christmas cruise.

On our last cruise.  We were the only ones in there the entire 2 hours

If you are in the time frame of printing out your board pas you are able to pay for your Specialty restaurant at that time. prior to that. You can reserve but not pay. Once you pay it will show up.

Yes, specialty wine dinners, etc.

I have a cruise in April of 2020 and I can not print my boarding pass yet, but I can pay for a Steakhouse reservation. The old way is not available there either.

I was just saying what happened to me the last two cruises.

I made reservation for first night before pre pay policy.  Hope I dont have a problem. I do have a confirmation email but it does not show in planner

With this method, the reservation goes into a computerized reservation system. The old method required writing in a book. The reason for the prepay is due to too many people canceling last minute with no ability to fill the table.

The Steakhouse accepts walk ins, done it several times. Sometimes seated immediately, sometimes asked to wait at the bar for a few minutes, never been full.

Almost every  cruise line except Carnival you pre pay for specialty restaurants. Until now

So is carnival still honoring the old way if you have reservations or do you need to rebook the new way

if you do not want to pay in advance, book on board. They openly solicit reservations at kiosks around the ship.

If you book through the Carnival Hub app they do not ask you to prepay. It's the old system

I don't think they do....or IF they do, I've never heard of it.

nope. instead they offer a free bottle of wine on the first night and often the first elegant night.
