Port wine

Are you able to bring a bottle of port wine on board in place of regular wine or champagne?

You should have absolutely no problem as long as the bottle isn’t bigger than 750 ml. The maximum amount allowed is two bottles per stateroom.

Technically it is not allowed, as port is a fortified wine. We get around that by taking a late harvest Zinfandel. We've never had the port security even look at out wines, though, so you'd probably be okay.

As stated above, it's not allowed, and someone has reported that theirs was confiscated, but 999,999 times out of 1,000,000, they don't even look at the bottle itself - just the outline on the scanner.

Yes, but it limited to a few ships and kinda expensive.

If it’s in a standard port bottle, you may get pushback  since it’s not going to look like a regular wine bottle.  
 

the prepurchase hard liquor options are not a good value at all unless you like well brands

In Baltimore they always make everyone remove it and they look at it and make sure it says wine or champagne/prosecco.  It's the only port I've ever seen that done all the time.

Yes they did that when we sailed out of Baltimore (twice) earlier this year.

No expert on port, but I can't believe a scanner would have an issue with this.
