Rare h20skibum Posted January 5, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2020 I am a little late in getting this live review started, but better late than never. It has been a while since I did a review on a Celebrity ship, so it is time for one. For the past few years, my wife and I escape the Pennsylvania winter for a while, by renting a beach house over the holidays, then take a cruise. So with that brief intro, let’s get started. Will try to give you those, as we experience more. The ship looks to be in beautiful shape, although they didn’t get everything revolutionized. No, we didn’t rent one, although I talked to someone who just used one as they watched the movie on the lawn club last night.

Can't wait to hear. We will be sailing on her in February. This will be our second time on Equinox. First time was 2012.

Actually, it was for 6, but it was like doing a puzzle to fit six people, plus luggage in. I did manage to do it. We came down before Christmas, rented a house, and family came to join us for the holidays. We were just getting them to the airport in one trip, then we could go off and enjoy the cruise. A couple photos of the house we rented. The pool The patio

We have used homeaway, vrbo, and irenta. It works for us, when we have a large family coming in to spend holiday time with us.
Rare h20skibum Posted January 5, 2020 Author #15 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Well, we thought we were perfect neighbors, except when when one of the old people next door kept threatening to call the police when the young ones were playing ‘Marco Polo’ too loud at 6 pm. Maybe that is why this ended up in the drive after New Year’s Eve. Maybe it is some kind of a voodoo hex they do down here. Who knows???
Rare h20skibum Posted January 5, 2020 Author #16 Share Posted January 5, 2020 I know, I just ruined the class on the Celebrity board by posting the dead possum, so I better get back to the ship stuff.
Rare h20skibum Posted January 5, 2020 Author #17 Share Posted January 5, 2020 We drove to the port, and parked at the parking garage by terminal 25. Drop off of luggage was easy, then we parked and walked back to the terminal. We got in the terminal around 10:30, and had expedited arrival on the Celebrity app. We did have a little wait, as they boarded handicapped, concierge, and Aqua class before us. We have Elite status, so we boarded next, but they let the couple new cruisers sailing with us, to board when we did. I liked how we could go directly to our cabin, and drop off our carry on luggage, and pick up our room key. Then, it was off to the Martini Bar. Since we were on early, it was not crowded. My wife loved this banana split martini. I don’t remember what mine was called, so I will just say it was good!!!
Rare h20skibum Posted January 5, 2020 Author #18 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Okay, so that was a Sunset Martini. I had to go back and order another, to help me remember😁😁

RickT Posted January 5, 2020 #20 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Following.... we’re on the Equinox in 62 days (not that I’m counting the days or anything). Would appreciate names and your opinion on the ships band(s) and guitar player.

BonVoyage Dawna I know the anticipation for cruising. So how about a little about the Celebrity app. Equinox is one of those that have the chat option. Before you board, there isn’t much that is accurate. Then, on boarding day, it says to connect to WiFi on the ship. Once you connect, it will be somewhat up to date The messaging portion still needs some work. You can see from the above, the message bubble will turn red, but there is no tone or. Vibration to notify you. You have to have the app open and be looking at it. It still needs some work. if you have iPhones and the internet package, just use that. It works fine.
