Transporation options from cruise port to SFO

We presently have booked Princess transfer but I really do not want to be sitting on the bus waiting for it to fill up before we can drive to the airport.  Somewhere I came across a comment that after disembarkation the lines for Lyft and Uber, as well as for taxi, are horrendous - one hour wait?!   We arrive on a Sunday morning and would like to be at the airport for 10-10:30am.  I am leaning towards a taxi as I think we would be dropped off closer to the terminal than with rideshare?  Or just stick with the transfer? TIA!

First of all, if you are planning on a 10:30 flight, you are going to have a very stressful day.

 

As far as I know, both taxi and rideshare can still drop you at the Terminal. Its the pickup that is the issue.

Our flight is just after 1pm. I’ve cruised enough that would not book a 10:30am flight. Agree that would be too stressful! Been quite a few years since have flown out of SFO so imagine has changed a bit since then.

1pm flight is not a problem. Use whatever transportation you like.

Walk or take a trolley to BART (train) Embarcadero station it's 1 mile -- a 20 minute walk on a 20' wide sidewalk... then take BART to SFO.  SFO's BART station is actually inside the SFO terminal.

If you're referring to a company with blue vans, Super Shuttle, they ceased operations late last year.

Another vote for BART.  Note: This is a wonderful option for those who can walk and have nice rolling luggages.  Pretty easy and simple.

Thanks all for the suggestions.  I might just stick with the Princess transfer for now.  Will likely use BART from SFO to hotel.

We disembarked in San Francisco last Friday (Pier 27), Jan. 24.  We were not in a rush to get off the ship (we were staying for a few days), and had no problem getting an Uber at the cruise terminal. They were permitted to pull right up.

We booked a private car for both to and from the cruise terminal.   Prices were (aprox) $20 more than the Carnival shuttle for 2!
