Price drop

Good morning,

How do I find out exactly what room credit covers? Can it be used in the casino? We prepaid gratuities. I was told by an experienced cruiser to request a refund for that and use the room credit to pay it? First time cruiser!

We booked our first cruise ever through a travel gent. The cruise has now dropped substantially in price. The travel gent contacted the cruise line and the best we were offered is $105.00 OBC. I read about others getting refunds. Should I push my agent more, go to the cruise line or be happy with my $105.00 credit?

Hardly enough info here.

Were you past final payment?

What percentage of your fare is the $105?

Is the TA sharing the commission with you?

Etc, etc.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Agree with Flatbush Flyer....we need a bit more information.

For example, with Royal Caribbean:

j* If it's still before final payment, we can adjust our price to the lower price.

j* If we booked directly with RCCL, we call them and they adjust it.

* If we booked with a travel agent, we call the travel agent who calls RCCL.

* We usually book over a year or more in advance and watch for price drops and call when we see one.

* Pretty easy...we've never had problems.

* Note: Some cruises will go down in prices...some will go up.

* If it's AFTER final payment, and the price drops, all we could do is ask and a couple of times received a cabin upgrade and small OBC.

@Fayea

Howdy and welcome to Cruise Critic! emo22.gif

Thank you for your two new threads on the First Tme Cruisers forum that is for general questions. 👍

Since your topics concern a specific cruise line, your two threads titled Price drop and Norwegian Dawn have been merged into one thread titled Price drop. And then the merged thread has been moved to the Norwegian Cruise Line forum where it will be on-topic.

I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! emo35.gif

Happy sails,

The OBC from NCL due to a price drop is non refundable.  No refunds or rebooking after final payment for a price drop.

the NR OBC can not be used to pay the DSC/daily gratuities.  As mentioned, it can be used for any purchases on board (specialty dining, drinks, photos, spa) and it can be used in the casino.
