Hi, the Urology office called today and I am having the stent removed on Monday morning. From what they explained to me, it is a very quick thing.

And i was given a referral to an Endocrinologist and that office called me today but get this, they have no openings till the middle of May 😮 what good is a referral if you can't see the new Dr for 5 months???....this was the Dr I was going to talk to about my diabetes/sugar,etc  I have an appt tomorrow morning with my Primary Care Dr and will speak with him about this again. Even while I was in the hospital my sugar numbers were not high.........in the 120s. and my A1C was about 6.7

The weather has been really ugly here lately......high in the 50s, windy and NO SUN........yukky☹️

Lois- the long wait for an endocrinologist isn't unusual.  I waited a good 6 months for mine.  There aren't that many and they are swamped.

My first week of work is in the books.  I slept for a looooong time yesterday.  I got a new co-worker Tuesday for the winter.  I think we're going to be good together.  She an older woman who has been through the career & marriage thing and she picked up everything I showed her right away.  The "kid' we have, well, no one likes him so we'll just have to deal with him.  He wants to be the alpha male and have us be his minions.  Yes, this after a week.  Ah, life.

Went down to TJ's today to pick up the Holiday junk food for work and special stuff for me.  It was the first "Holy Cr$p" moment for awhile, but expected.  I get different cookies and candles for gifts.  I picked up some good frozen things to make for a fast dinner after work.  Some dog bones to take to work for all my furry friends.  And, a porchetta roast  for Christmas.  I won't get down there again until sometime in January...

OOTD: My black flowered hoodie sweatshirt, Free People jeans with flowers on them.  It was in the 40s, so no coat needed.

Pretty normal for an endocrinology specialist. Tell your nephrologist (they might get you in sooner with the endocrinologist)

Sounds like work is picking up for you. Hope your winter is less snowy than last year.

Any great finds at TJ's?  I'll probably make my holiday "run" on Sunday or Monday.

Yep, it will get busy on Sunday and not let up until April...  For now, it's just some of my owners in house.  Snow is meager and is looking non-existent through the 24th.  I can only see 10 days in advance.  I don't mind but my owners and guests may be a bit angry to only have manmade groomers to play on with 5,000 others 😼

Hmm.  Haven't tried anything yet from my haul, but I did pick up:

Frozen chicken & cheddar breakfast bake.  Looks like a quiche.  Sounded good

Frozen Italian creme pastries.  I did have this the other month.  Yummy treat!

Stollen Crisps.  In a box - looks like Fig & Olive crackers.

Frozen fried olives stuffed with cheese.  Just sounded like something good to pop into the air fryer after work.

Frozen Pretzel Bread Pudding.  I couldn't resist!!!

Porchetta roast.  In the meat section.  I've had this for a few years - yummy good.  Serves me for a few meals.

I was looking for, but couldn't find:  cranberry butter cookies, cranberry pistachio biscotti 😒

We are back from our Caribbean winter break cruse, right into hell week at work. The cruise was perfect, one missed port due to high winds, but that just gave me more time to sit on my balcony, read, and drink margaritas. Hell week #1 is done, next week is crazy busy, as is the following week.

Today was our one Saturday a year to work, we were done by 2pm. Just can't turn down double pay for a few hours. A group went out for drinks after (margarita!) and socializing. As usual, work was the main topic. I was called a pain in the ass by one person, even as she was agreeing with another coworker that I was the "intellectual" of our work group. Floored me as I don't always get along with both of these people. We are trying to figure out how to tell management what we want. They are all for a walk out/call out, but since I'm so close to retirement, I don't really want to endanger my job. We work at a private ambulatory surgery center (ASC). It is owned by the physicians, so it's their building. They can pretty much do what they want.  Such is life.

@Lois R Glad to hear you're doing better. Crazy about the meds. Wish Washington would do something about it, but I don't see that happening in my lifetime.

Purple - Good to hear the cruise was a relaxing success prior to those nasty weeks where everyone is trying to get their surgeries in before the New Year deductible kicks back in.   I hope the grumbling ends and you have smooth sailing (pun intended) at work!!

I am freakin' exhausted today.  My co-worker hurt his back in the AM and went home before noon.  I was totally solo from then until 7pm.  There was really too much for 1 person to do.  Some of it was unexpected with guests from other management companies coming in and not having a clue on how to get their keys, where to park.  One owner came in totally unannounced.  Another who is coming in late tonight had a shipload of groceries delivered and I had to go up and put them away.  And, the usual 30 packages from Fedex, UPS, Amazon, etc. which had to be logged and then delivered...  And, my usual late afternoon duties.  I sure hope I get a part-timer for the weekends quickly!!!   Otherwise, it'll just be me from 4-7pm every weekend!!  I literally just got to sit and breathe at 6:15pm!!!  No lunch break today.  I'll have to pick up dinner on the way home as I don't want to wait 30 minutes for something to cook at home.

OOTD:  My RBX tan sweatshirt dress, Sweaty Betty brown leggings, my Taos white hi-tops.

I hope so too -- that is too much for one person!

Lois - Hope that stent removal does indeed go quickly, smoothly and easily!!

Work - my other co-worker was here today, so life wasn't so bad.  The one who left early left things undone that should have been done 2 days ago by him.  GRRRRR.  The two of us today got lots done and we didn't even stress out.  That's how I like it!  She's the early person (8am - 4pm) so I'm hoping that we can keep this kind of thing going all Winter!  Being Sunday, we didn't have a barrage of packages to deliver - that helped, too.  We'll see what happens tomorrow...😏

OOTD:  my Free People embroidered jeans from one owner, a white Eileen Fisher sweater from another owner, my own Olu Kai hi-tops.  It's nice when I can wear hand-me-downs!!

Hi again, am home and everything went well. The Dr is really nice (he actually had stopped in to see me when I was in the hospital). He showed me the stent after he took it out......a longish wire........

And the other news is that I have another stone on my right kidney. He wants to be pro-active and take it out but I am going to wait a bit before I do that one. It can be done as an out patient procedure.

Just been catching up on the going ons while at the lake with Covid .Our entire family has it,

such bad timing with my new job and the busiest time of year but I don’t want to give it to everyone.

Glad your stent came out without any drama Lois and sorry to hear you have another stone but doesn’t sound major.

What a nice time to be cruising pre Christmas and escaping the madness for those cruising and Kat you are fully in the madness ,I hope more snow arrives for the holiday visitors.I will miss going to Whistler in February but looks as though they are also having a slow start.

Lois - happy to hear it went well.   Is that new stone small enough that they can nuke it apart?

I LOVE my new co-worker so far!   We had a "cargo shipload" of packages today - over 30 of them of various sizes, shapes, and weight!  Each one has to get logged and then delivered.  We ended up splitting it up.  Unfortunately, one Amazon delivery was a bottle of Tide detergent and it was leaking!  Now, no matter now much I wash my hands, they smell like Tide.  And Tide makes my nose run and sneeze!!!

Funniest thing today:  Got a call just now from a guest.  He got stuck on the mountain after the lift to our Lodge area closed and wanted to know how to get a ride back!!!   Not the first time it's happened, but the first one of the year 😹

My owners with the villa in Tuscany flew in late last night from Rome.  They went Rome->ATL->SLC.  Their luggage didn't make the flight to SLC.  But, fortunately it made it to SLC today and was delivered.  Not much luggage - a medium check bag and a carryon size spinner that was checked.  That's for 2 of them total, for over a month there!!!  I'm pretty sure they have clothes & stuff over at their villa so they don't have to travel with much.

I've heard through the Facebook grapevine that Stanley Tucci has signed with National Geographic Channel to do another series on Italy!!!  Haven't heard when it'll start - I guess I'll have to find which streaming service has Nat Geo.

OOTD:  my black floral hoodie (yes, I liked the white one so much I bought a black one, too!), my black jeans and my Taos white leather zip-up high tops.   With all the packages we're getting, have to dress for all that

Glad everything has gone well for you Lois!   Too bad another stone is developing, I hope you can get it taken care of before it can cause any problems.

Wow, Melissa, the whole family?  I hope you all have mild cases and recover quickly!

Don’t you just love health care games, Christy?😂. The unit I worked in for 27 years is going through a difficult time.  Upper management reduced the size of the pediatric unit  causing several of their experienced nurses to leave so now they have mandated cross training for the post partum staff. As a result, several friends have decided to retire and others are leaving for jobs elsewhere.  So of course, they been swamped with new babies, they are short of help, and management is having to pay bonus to bribe staff to come in extra.  Fun times!

Sherri🙂

Hi, saw my Nephrologist this morning and she told me to call the NE FL Endocrine & Diabetes  Associates......they are folks who come to the hospital (They came to see me). Anyway, I spoke with them today and will be doing a follow up phone visit on Jan 11th. They will see all the notes from my hospital stay and what meds I am on now........I wanted to go in person but the office is far away so this phone visit will have to do.  I will speak with them about my sugar numbers and see what is what.

At least this is next month....that other appt is 6 months away......not even sure I will keep that one once I speak with this gal.

Oh, the Nephrologist wants me to drink, drink, drink..........I am alternating between water and Crystal Light........it tastes so much better than water and has no sugar.in it.

I got a new coffee machine today.......instead of Keurig I treated myself to a Cuisinart😃.......it does the same thing. I love the brand.

Our daughter is a type 1 diabetic. She does zoom & phone with her endocrinologist all the time. Try the MIO drops in your water too. You can mix the flavors too if you get bored. I keep a large pitcher in the fridge with sliced lemons & sometimes limes in it (change the fruit every couple of days). I just bought a Cuisinart coffee maker too!

Hi Melody, MIO drops? Are they in the grocery store too? I am not sure if I have heard of them....are they near the Crystal Light products?
