IT is beautifully sunny day here in Stoke.  I have been for a walk to post a letter.  It was a battle against the wind to get to the post box but coming back was easier though it is uphill all the way, I don't think that I have ever done the walk back that fast in the 23 years that we have lived here.  DH is outside picking up the twigs that have come down from the trees and shrubs in the garden and moaning that the few leaves that were on the trees now need sweeping up.

Good morning hope everyone's ok:classic_smile: 6.c with bright sunshine as January says goodbye.

Mrs K and I feel like two birds that have fledged the nest as it's been a long time since

September 2019 when taken into hospital and staying in ever after . It seemed a good a

time as any to dip our toe into the world again so we spent the night in a Travelodge

for the night to see how we would feel and as it was only 15 minutes away from home,

we could easily abandon it and return home .Pleased to say we had a nice night and

a lovely breakfast and both felt at ease with the situation. I didn't bother with photo's

as I think we all know what a cooked breakfast looks like :classic_wink: Looking forwards to

our next adventure possibly a bit further afield next time now we know how we feel

about traveling again .Must admit we feel better for it

Take care and stay safe :classic_love::classic_smile:

Summer must be coming soon, our bowling club had an outdoor AGM yesterday, I didn't go because of the car tax debacle that has meant I spent a good part of the day trying to sort out.  I had said that I was cutting down on playing this year and would not play in the ladies team because we have almost enough players for 2 teams but I am still playing 4 games a week.

Morning everyone, nice sunny day here but quite windy making it feel cooler than it actually is.

There is a long stretch of daffodils every year near to us and you can now see yellow at the tops although they are not actually out yet. That cheers me up, a sign of Spring.

We have electrician here today doing lights in kitchen and plasterer tomorrow to do the utility room.

Have a nice day everyone whatever you are doing.

We just got back from a sunny weekend in Warner's. Tony Hadley was the entertainment. The place felt nice and safe. We will do a test soon to see how safe it really was.

I'm pleased to read your story Kalos.

Hopefully you both feel more comfortable going out and have a few more nights away.

4°C and sunny here.

Graham.

I enjoyed reading your post kalos and I'm pleased you had a lovely 'mini break'  As you know neither Frank nor I drive now, but I was so inspired by your little jaunt out that I've hunted out the 2022 Alfa coach holidays brochure. We've used them before when we just neeed a few days away and they're very good. We had been interested in a 4 night 4* hotel tour of the Cotswolds, but the pandemic put pay to that, however it's still in the 2022 brochure, so this year hopefully we'll  manage it.

Thanks kalos for the 🥾 in the posterior😁

Our next coach tour is with Alfa, it is the Eden project. Something we always fancied but never seemed to have time for as cruising got in the way. After taking a couple of tours with KM travel in the last 2 years we are now looking at other coach tours. We just like the ease and convenience of letting someone else deal with the hassle.

Globe Travel, a local company, looks to have some interesting tours too, good hotels and local pck-ups. We've not tried them, but they have good reviews.

You never know Phil, we may cross paths one day on a coach and not a ship. 😉

Our retriever is back to his normal self again I am pleased to say. Wanting to go for walkies again and enjoying his food. Our spaniel seems to have avoided catching it fortunately

We are looking at an Italian lakes and Swiss Alps tour with Riviera. It will have to be 2023 now as this year is pretty full up with cruises, UK and Canaries holidays. We will need to decide for ourselves as ICF's useful advice seems to have dried up.

That's a relief, thank you. I'm sorry to learn she's been poorly and so pleased she's on the mend. It will be lovely to see her posting again, she has been missed. x

I have been called for Jury service, and thankfully the case was dismissed.

On the other hand, a friend of mine was chosen to serve on the jury for what turned out to be a significant drugs case which involved the "Top" people in the organization. .

Each of the jury slept in different hotels each night, and each day collected from their hotels in a bus, which apparently escorted by unmarked police cars.

the Jurors had very little interaction with each other.

Meals at their hotels were room service only.

I Hope your Jury service is not as severe as this.

Barnsley does have an organised whippet smuggling crime network.

Aha the world of bowls is about to start again. I do NOT play my back doesn't flex at all but I make tea etc. Last week the "are you able to?" letter came about what you can offer and for the first time I have had to say not the XX Tuesday in the month as I have joined Probus and that is our lunch meeting. I have been interrogated as if by the SS. Luckily I find it amusing its one day a month you would have thought i had joined ISIS. Apparently Rotary is OK no query re those lunches and non availability which has been for 2 years. It amused me no end.
