So Raab has now said you can meet other family members in a park,  if you keep two metres apart. However, you cannot meet other family members in their garden, even if you keep 2 metres apart there as well.

There is absolutely no sense in that. The Government is just making up policy on the hoof.

Some people make quotes fit their wishes on the hoof. Did he say ," you can ONLY meet etc".

"If you're out in the park and you're 2m apart... and use some common sense and you socially-distance, you can meet up with other people."

His words. He specifically does not mention anywhere else, otherwise  he would not have said park.

If we wait til the document is published, we won't need to make things up, or criticise him for things he didn't say. We are planning a trip out on Thursday when the weather warms up again. We will need to take a picnic as the restaurants will be closed. Nice to be able to get out again, isn't it. Perhaps a holiday later in the summer. Looking good, I bet you are pleased.🛤️

Are you saying ' bring back Thatcher"?

Hardly.  But I was trying very hard to keep party politics out of it.  I just want to see some real leaders back, with some competence, and she certainly had that, whatever you might think of her policies.

All we have now is a bunch of useless wafflers who couldn't run the proverbial ------ in a brewery.  Very good at buzzwords, slogans and catchphrases, but absolutely hopeless at actually doing or achieving anything effectively.  Very easy to blame the NHS for PPE failures, but who's been in charge of it for the last 10 years?

We have got what we have got for the next 5 years. I have moved on. Looking back to times that probably didn't exist don't help the blood pressure. A trip out to the countryside, or coast might. We may go down to Southsea and watch the cruise ships and look forward to late August when we are on Iona. Good times soon.

No change there for us. We avoid public transport when we can. All those ordinary people. When they do the 10 quid return from Woking to Weymouth, we suffer it. Looks like that may be a goer in June. Will take our own sarnies if we have to, but Boris may let us have lunch in a restaurant.😁

We also don't use public transport though not from choice, we are just over a mile from the nearest bus stop so we can drive into town in the time it takes to walk to the bus stop.

Looking forward to restaurants reopenning, I am fed up of pretending that I am a super chef or Mary Berry's biggest rival.😂😂

Come along the coast a bit to Lee on the Solent and we can watch the ships sail together, from a safe distance of course..

Make sure you turn the hearing aid up..

Back end of last year we had coffee on the seafront at Lee on Solent. Nice place, shame about the coffee shop.

Our usual dog walk on a Sunday was start at Titchfield nature reserve and walk up to Lee, breakfast in the penguin cafe then a slow walk back..

It will be a while before the cafes open properly again..

Shopping day today. They have a coffee shop and do take away. A real coffee shop cappuccino. Get one on the way out, back home, tip it in a proper cup and think of better times. Hope the people in our local Italian sandwich bar get through ok and we can go again in July. Boris may let us.😁

Easy to avoid party politics. Just avoid politics full stop.

Damned if he does damned if he doesnt and between a rock and a hard place. The easy thing is to criticise especially as once again there are many "experts" on here who thing they know better and know everything why do they waste their time going on cruises and trolling forums when they could be world leaders.

Excellent analysis. If you make up quotes, you can blame him for anything. If the rules say you can go out and you feel safe and that you won't be a danger to others, go out. If you are too frightened, stay indoors. Going out isn't compulsory. They can watch travel on U tube.

Impossible to avoid politics in the current situation.  It's integrated into every aspect of life at the moment,  including cruising.

Very easy to avoid anything that doesn't interest you personally though.  Just ignore it.

Ah but how do you know they are not linked to number 10 and the COBRA meetings and think tanks ?

Have you never heard of the  Cruise Critics Readers Advisory Panel ? Better known as CCRAP:classic_unsure:

The Govenment would deny knowledge of it's existence though :classic_wink:

What will we discuss and moan/whinge about when we return to some sort of normality and we have all received our refunds perhaps we can return to a lighter subject and argue about Brexit with the "experts"

Brexit, there's a thought. I see France/UK travellers won't be quarantined for 14 days. Off to Brittany soon.🚢

Easy if you practice a little self control and follow the rules of cruise critic.

How about tipping, formal nights, lift users, cruise manners, face cloths versus flannels etc, etc, etc. Ah, nostalgia 😆😆😆

Unfortunately the cabinet is stuffed full of Brexit 'experts', which is why they were given their jobs, to the exclusion of more competent sidelined colleagues who backed the wrong horse.  The resulting chaos and confusion over this virus is the outcome.

And come next January, with vital imports stacked up at ports awaiting clearance, no European health cover for us, no market for our fishermen to sell into, and a seriously damaged financial sector which currently provides a huge income for the beleaguered Treasury,  we'll find out what the Good Ship Brexit really means.
