Thanks, though we know it will be next year at the earliest should we buy. This year is more of a scouting mission. Learning a lot about what is important to us as in area, type of home, lake front (decided against ocean front)...etc. And no log cabins in the wilds of the far north Moose and Bear woods!! 😮😉

I remember coming back from the beach and while changing in the cabin we saw sail racing on ESPN. Once changed we headed to the aft and noticed a crowd. The sail racing on ESPN was happening right there! We want to go there again.
Rare Ozark_Kid Posted August 22, 2021 #27067 Share Posted August 22, 2021 @island lady That looks like a nice relaxing place. Nice view and I like the raised bed with the cone flowers. Also nice to have a generator with a storm near. Happy home hunting.

harryfat1 Posted August 22, 2021 #27070 Share Posted August 22, 2021 My wife and I went to visit the in laws yesterday in San Francisco – land of eternal fog and cool temperature. Even in middle of August, it was only 62 degrees at 4 PM and the sun never came out. As we approach the city about 5 miles out, you can see the sky turn gray like in the movies and after you are in the “zone”, it’s all gray. You know you have money to burn if you have air condition installed in your home in SF for the 10 days per year when it’s over 80 degrees. Parking in SF is always a challenge. Especially if you have a minivan. Had to perfect my parallel parking skills through the years to try and park the van every time we visit. Went to a Chinese bakery on Clement Street and got bunch of sweet/fattening stuff that’s not good for you but tastes good. These became our breakfast for today as well as dessert later today.
harryfat1 Posted August 22, 2021 #27071 Share Posted August 22, 2021 As we live on the other side of the bay, we had to drive across the San Mateo Bridge. All my fellow bay area cruisers knows of this bridge very well but I doubt most people outside of the bay area even heard of this bridge as the Golden Gate bridge is probably the only bridge knows about from the bay area. The Bay Bridge is really the work horse bridge in the bay area with San Mateo bridge also picking up the slack transporting thousands of commuters to Silicon Valley jobs (pre-Covid). I really like this bridge as it’s wide open with nothing on top of you and it’s low enough above the water line it’s as if you are driving on water. On weekends there’s no traffic on the 3 lane bridge but on weekday commutes, this bridge can be parking lot. I have been stuck on it many times on bad traffic days. View of another bridge further south in the Bay – Dumbarton Bridge – where you would find Facebook’s HQ right after you exit.

National Grid needs to do some updating. They know the area is a weak spot. So I'm hanging out at my parent's house. Lost part of a tree in my yard but no house damage. I already chain sawed the tree to pieces and will take the rest of it down soon. No problems at my parent's house or the office. Both are further from the ocean than my house. Back to work tomorrow. Be careful with that saw. My upstairs neighbors husband was a very gifted orthopedic surgeon until he decided to trim some trees. Luckily he had a very good insurance policy

harryfat1 Posted August 22, 2021 #27075 Share Posted August 22, 2021 We live nearby the 3 major airports in bay area – San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose – where we have taken planes to cruises from all 3 airports. SFO probably the most scenic as it has run way out in the middle of the bay. Whenever we land in SFO, it’s always a scary proposition as if you look outside from the window during landing, all you see if water and you hope the pilot hits the runway correctly. Only the last few seconds right before landing do you see land beneath you. Years ago, Asiana plane crashed on trying to land a 777 at SFO at the same water front runway. There’s area many places to watch the planes in SFO. These pics were from last February on Chinese New Year as that was the last time my wife’s big family clan had meal together (pre Covid). The scenery outside of the restaurant is nice.
