Cruising will not happen until the government allows the zoo, schools, concerts, state fairs, casinos, sporting events, etc. to resume again.   So you can kiss the Alaskan season good bye.   And we are just talking US ports.  Do you really want to cruise in Europe?  Or cruise out of New York?  Will Vancouver allow cruisers from other countries to even enter?  And we all know New Orleans and Florida will be safe, right? So when baseball starts again,  so will cruising✌️

the chances are quite high. Some resources on the internet predict these things to last till June with a significant decrease in May. I think you can safely plan your cruises in May-August. If you ask me I would pospone any type of travel this year but if you are the one craving for the sea, then yes. May-June should be fine. Just to feel relaxed check with your cruise agent

Everyone should work the problem,  I have not seen many solutions offered outside of what is being done presently. I thought that masks would at least be effective in spreading the disease if you had the virus, until recently cdc directives stated otherwise and no political party challenged that view,  There is definitely enough criticism for every single  elected  political figure.  On Jan 21 Here is what Dr Fauci said:   “This is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States should be worried about right now,”   When the current Administration in the White House stopped flights from China, there was no support from the opposition party, in fact just the opposite, same happened when europe was stopped.  Just wish people would stop with the political digs, as a registered independent I see this constant gang like mentality between the 2 parties, your going to stick up for your gang no matter what.  We dont need that now we need ideas, solutions, etc...

Im just off the Pearl, cruising in the Caribbean.    There was a lot of coughing......a lot.   Is it Corona?

There was just lot of coughing.

I started coughing the day before we were disembarking.   I was at the airport and now it was more than a cough.   Im flying home and have a fever!!    I get home and look up the symptoms of corona virus and freak out!!   Then 2 days later I get the shortness of breath, to the point I can't catch my breath.

You got a cough on the last day and the other symptoms after getting home.

I'm pretty sure I got it on day 2 or 3.   At that point I didn't even know the symptoms of Corona Virus but I had all the symptoms right down to shortness of breath and tight chest congestion.

You got all the symptoms onboard on day 2-3.

I got COVID in mid February on the Pearl and I am traumatized.

Your traumatized, that certainly escalated since March 3rd.

the govt cant mandate what the cruises do since they arent based in america.  if the ports are open and ppl want to go they will start them up.   a month from now they can see if the the coronavirus is dying out or not and then have 2 weeks to get going agian.

No normal person in their right mind that has paid any attention to what is going on with this pandemic would actually think there is any sort of chance that cruises will be sailing in May. You can take it to the bank that it is not happening!

45-50 days from now it could be a whole different story with the warm weather.  be cautious but whats with so many doom and glooming around here? if its still the same by end of may ,no biggie we will try june.

Ha ha you are correct.  But the United States can prevent any ship from docking in their port.  Just had 2 ships full of Covid-19 not allowed to anywhere docked at sea until they were finally allowed to dock in Miami under huge protest.  If you think for a second the people on land would cater to risky cruise travel you are kidding yourself. Our hospitals and first responders are already at their limits.

The government control the ports.  They  can mandate who comes and goes.
