jp2746 Posted April 15, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2020 I can get all the way to the end of the booking for July 2020 and the page gives me an error telling me to contact Princess to finish my booking. Does this mean that the CDC order will shut them down through July even though Princess has only officially cancelled though June?
RebeccatheGeek Posted April 15, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2020 They are probably keeping that in mind, and depending on what the legalities of things are. If there is an outbreak on the ship, are they at high liability now? Where will the passengers go? Will anyone take them? Will the islands let them dock? And since they have sent a lot of employees back to their home countries, they might not have enough crew to staff the ship.
tntornadox Posted April 16, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) It's not just July, I can't book a cruise in December either... I think their site is just having issues. You'd think they'd want new bookings! And I'd think doing it online would free up their phone agents. Edited April 16, 2020 by tntornadox
susancruzs Posted April 17, 2020 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2020 I couldn't book a cruise for April 2021 either and my TA was having issues, too. She thought I could book, she would then take it over but that didn't work either, maybe tomorrow.
skynight Posted April 17, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Probably very limited sailings, if any, for July 2020. Gulf of Alaska season is cancelled, some RT sailings from Seattle may occur. Which ships and itineraries will return first has probably not been totally determined, although Princess has stated that the RT sailings from Seattle are scheduled for the Ruby and Emerald. This is most likely why you can not complete a booking without calling Princess.
fredflint Posted April 17, 2020 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Didn't the Feds say they could start 100 days after April 10th, that would make it towards the end of July. https://komonews.com/news/coronavirus/cdc-extends-ban-on-cruise-ship-sailings-up-to-another-100-days I feel it will be longer though, not quite sure what they will do to minimize the issue. Will they require people to all be tested 2 weeks before then a few days before too, take temperatures, change dining room seating and not sell Inside and Oceanview cabins so they can have more distance in the dining room. Masks required in the theaters and no food/drinks allowed.
susancruzs Posted April 17, 2020 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2020 I still can't book for April 2021 this a.m., get the same error message and to call Princess.
cherylandtk Posted April 17, 2020 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Been trying March 2021 sailings. Only twice out of perhaps 25 attempts was I able to get past the room selection to the dining/bed layout etc. page.
tntornadox Posted April 17, 2020 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Oddly enough for me it always work when I’m logged out but then there is a price difference. Even when you log in again to pre-populate your information in the guest information screen it doesn’t update the fare.
cherylandtk Posted April 17, 2020 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2020 Maybe those of us with pending refunds/FCC are somehow flagged in the system????

tntornadox Posted April 18, 2020 #12 Share Posted April 18, 2020 I broke down and called the PVP line and booked with them. Someone answered right away and it was such an easy process since I knew what cabin I wanted.
