Looking at two cruises in september 2021

 

first one to Alaska on 6 day cruise leaving vancover on Millenium then second cruise on same ship leaving Vancouver to LA on 10 day cruise

 

We are from UK so don't understand the rules about back to back cruises and entering leaving US waters etc.

 

i seem to remember reading on here in the past that some back to back cruises are not allowed.

 

would my cruises come into that scenario

Since your combined voyage itinerary starts in Vancouver and ends in LA you will not have any issues with the 'PVSA" law. It only applies if your back to back itinerary begins and ends in different U.S. ports. There are numerous threads on Cruise Critic explaining the intricate details of the law, but none of it should apply to your plans.

It's OK your cruise, We do a Hawaii B2B then the Pacific Coastal, Starting in Vancouver and ending in LA. You will receive in your cabin a invitation to a meeting, where X will give you all the details for the Turn Around Day

We have never booked a B2B, before, Do we just book two cruises   ( we normally do it online) or would we need to phone up for a combined booking.

 

i assume there is no discount for booking two cruises and staying in the same cabine

We have booked our back to backs as two cruises, if the same cabin is available, you can book that. We have received either $50 or $100 OBC, which you need to request based on the length of the B2B cruises. 

 

If you change cabins, it is very easy and your stateroom attendant moves all you hanging clothes and you just put your loose items in your suitcases.

I guess this is a return cruise to Vancouver and then on to LA?  As others have said, I would try and get the same cabin for both cruises.  Moving is not that big a deal as the steward helps and you only have to pack your personal items but it is just nicer not to have to do even that.  Be aware that any OBC or Internet minutes will not carry over to the new cruise.  

Being as how this is Sept, you will probably find all sorts of bargains in the shops in Alaska as they are getting ready to close for the season.

 

This will be an amazing diversity of scenery for you.  Enjoy.

I would either call or book using a TA.   You have to call to have the B2B OBC applied.   It is not automatic.  

 

No discount offered but you do get an OBC depending on length of cruise.

I believe there is a discount, not OBC, for back to back cruises. But you have to request it at time of booking.

You are so right, haha.  Sometimes, for a few seconds, I forget about COVID.  Luckily, I hope, for the OP it is Sept 2021, they are planning on.

There is a discount on back to back we have done several and not been offered it but last week a Celebrity rep said we got 32£ And it appeared on our booking invoice,can’t remember if it was on each cruise or per person so ask Celebrity you don’t get any on board spend .There is a lot of inconsistency!

We booked a B2B for next year on our cruise in Feb this year. The onboard team did not offer the $100 discount but we have a very savvy TA who jumped straight on it. At the time they were running a promotion for all 4 perks for booking onboard.
