If the Equinox is sailing in April 2021 we will be sailing on her.  We will be flying into MIA the day before the cruise and can either stay in Miami  and transfer to Port Everglades the morning of the cruise.or In the alternative we can transfer to FLL the same day we arrive.  We will not have a car.

I wonder  which scenario most people prefer?   If it is the first scenario how do we get to Port Everglades the day of the Cruise?

Unless you're arriving really late into Miami, I'd head to Ft Lauderdale and stay there.  Get to the hotel and not be in any sort of rush the next morning.  Transport recommendations above are accurate, we prefer Uber/Lyft.

Depending slightly on where your hotel is located, UberX or standard Lyft should be about $35-40 from MIA. Another $10 or so ride will get you to the port in the morning.

Bruce and Hawkfan are right, unless your flight gets in late I would choose to stay near your port.  www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel info.

We have done both (stay in Miami/transfer to Fort Lauderdale) but we would always have a couple or 3 days before boarding.  We now prefer to stay in Miami and shop and tour from there.

Talking about your situation we both agree that transferring to Fort Lauderdale after your flight arrives is the way to go if you are sailing the next day.

You probably have an evening arrival in MIA so transfer to Fort Lauderdale (we use Larry's Limos, who will meet you at baggage claim and drive you to your hotel), check in, then get some fresh air, something to eat and then bed.
