Change of ship

I have two cruises booked on the Grand Princess and now understand it is being replaced by the Regal Princess. Does anyone know why?

I've just gone on the Medallion app and it is still saying Grand Princess.

Princess says they are doing this to optimize demand with appropriately sized ships.

It's the 4th oldest ship in the Princess fleet ..... anticipate 1 of the 4 ( Pacific, Sun, Sea, Grand) going out of CC fleet

Pacific is leaving.  Golden is gone.  Grand is scheduled until 2022 from San Pedro.  Sun has a cruise next summer from San Pedro.  Don't know about the Sea.

They are, size of ship matters a great deal to some.  Me, at this stage of cruising, about itinerary, getting places I haven't seen. 

 

Everyone has their priorities, I've never locked myself into one ship.  I have repeated a few, and I do have some Princess ships I would not choose.

susancruzs; what ships do you not like?  I have only been on two Princess cruises.  Emerald and Caribbean.  Both were very nice

By gone...I meant...I can't sail on her as a Princess passenger.  And she was one of the three with Window Suites.  So saddened.  The new Royal Class ships with Window Suites are not the same either.

Emerald is my all time fav, I do not mind the Royal class ships.  I really enjoy the International Cafe as I'm not a buffet fan.  Any ship without it would be off my list.
