I got an email from NCL today as well. I clicked on multimedia resource and found a boat load (no pun intended) of photos/renderings, close to 100 of both Prima, and the Viva.
Sand and Seas Posted March 8, 2022 #2527 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Does this mean the two new MDRs will have two completely different (non-changing) menus?

BenCoudon Posted March 8, 2022 #2529 Share Posted March 8, 2022 They may impose a cover charge for the Commodore DN Or impose a limit on number of time you can go to that DN (a ticket system or controled by a requirement to make a reservation. We will find out soon
Single Cruiser Posted March 8, 2022 #2530 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Disappointed they have left out the District Brewhouse. All the bars seem to be very “cocktails type” , ok there’s the local (poor man’s O’Sheehans) but even that the renderings don’t seem to show any draught taps! 2

scubareview Posted March 8, 2022 #2532 Share Posted March 8, 2022 I did not see the District Brew House, one of my favorite bars on the Breakaway Plus ships, I hope they are just holding this back for a later reveal, It will be disappointing to lose this one.

New for NCL, but it sounds similar to Celebrity's Edge-class MDRs. Those ships have 4 MDRs which share a core menu but also feature dishes unique to each restaurant. Not a huge fan of Ocean Blue (except their bread) so I'm really looking forward to checking out the new seafood place!

As photos of Prima's Syd Norman's Pour House leaked earlier and it wasn't included in this announcement either, I am guessing that they will be announcing the "beer" venues separately down the road...

Maybe the non-rotating menu means a larger menu? There have been times when I've looked at the nightly MDR menu and realized there's nothing particularly appealing on there. There are other times when I've wanted to order almost everything, and was disappointed knowing that few or none of them would be available another night. TBH, on NCL I almost always eat dinner in a specialty restaurant or the buffet (or as I like to think of it, NCL's Indian specialty restaurant). I'll get a head-to-head comparison later this year - my next cruise after Prima is on Celebrity Apex.
BenCoudon Posted March 9, 2022 #2537 Share Posted March 9, 2022 I agree that it looks like they have not announced everything yet. Under the "Lounge and Bar" section, they only have 11 venues Only 7 are actual available bars. You cannot include the Haven and the Vibe club bars as they are not available to all guests. Even the Penrose bar is the Casino bar. You can get a drink there but usually it is dedicated to casino players only. 7 bars for 3300 passengers is way below the usual ratio. The Jade, with only 2400 passengers, has 13 bars. Also, no information about other venues such as SpiceH20, the Bliss lounge, comedy club (or any similar venues). I think there is more to come. Hopefully we will have the final deck plans soon FROM ARTISANAL TO INSPIRATIONAL THE OBSERVATION LOUNGE BELVEDERE BAR PRIMA SPEEDWAY BAR VIBE BEACH CLUB METROPOLITAN BAR PENROSE BAR THE HUMIDOR CIGAR LOUNGE THE HAVEN LOUNGE & BAR WHISKEY BAR WAVES POOL BAR STUDIO LOUNGE

mconthehighseas Posted March 10, 2022 #2542 Share Posted March 10, 2022 I want to thank everyone who added to this thread this week. I am so happy to see the new restaurant announcements! We were originally supposed to cruise this year, and we opted to move our cruise to 2023, when the nearly same itinerary would be on Pr1ma. I had been looking forward to the Brazilian restaurant that had been on our previously booked ship, but the Indian place on Pr1ma looks great. Can't wait!

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted March 10, 2022 #2546 Share Posted March 10, 2022 I'd love to have a hibachi for two - the "group concept" otherwise is one of the reasons I often skip it entirely. Tom

Tom Interesting... the group concept is the only reason I would go there. We skip it when we're traveling by ourselves as we've seen the show & tricks too many times to count. But with a group of friends it's a fun dinner. To each their own.

One of the appeals of not being part of a group is that you are more likely to be able to forego the show. We go to Teppanyaki purely for the food. We have seen the show many times. The best Teppanyaki experience we have ever had was when there was just us and another couple who were on our second visit on a 14 day cruise. The chef recognised us and all we agreed that he would just cook and we could all chat. It was an excellent meal. I would pay extra for it to be just us and forget the show. Like you guys, been to tepenyaki restaurants (land and ships) a countless number of time. Years ago, I started my own tradition to book Teppenyaki on the last night of every cruise. I travel solo so I prefer going with a group. So a table for 2 doesn't interest me. Agreed that the show is always the same but hey, I can always go for a laugh. It's often just the two of us cruising, and having random people as table mates is a no-go. Sure, in the past we've met some nice folks, but it's a roulette game. At bars/lounges/functions, one can make small talk and move on (or hang out) if conditions warrant. At a meal, it can lead to an awkward time. I'm not enough of a social butterfly to justify that. 🙂 Tom
