JimnKaren Posted September 13, 2020 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2020 Sint Maarten is where the cruise ships arrive. St. Martin is on the other side of the island (the French side). Jim
Thrak Posted September 13, 2020 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2020 St. Maarten is the Dutch side while St.Martin is the French side. Both take US Dollars. The French side also takes Euros.
LeeW Posted September 18, 2020 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2020 (edited) Only small ships can tender into St Martin. Our son did this once on Pacific Princess. Last December the port area was still in pretty bad shape from hurricane when we took a snorkeling excursion over there - French government wasn't helping much in the rebuild. Used to see school kids jumping off rails into the canal during their recess but school hadn't been rebuilt yet.
