Rosapenna Posted October 14, 2020 #9 Share Posted October 14, 2020 The incident happened on August 15 2020, and HAL guests are being informed almost two months later...... weird and careless!!

Maybe we influence the brewing industry's sales? As a shareholder in A-B and a loyal drinker of their products, when InBev bought the Company, I had to surrender my shares. My beverage preference went from beer to wine. As I understand it, beer consumption began to drop and is currently "flat" in comparison to recent years. Are we "market movers"? 🤣

Good question. How much personal data on the cruise lines web sites are encrypted and are unlikely to be broken. The B & N email today of their breech emphasized that credit card type stuff is encrypted and is safe. It's names, addresses, e-mail address, etc. that are recorded that could be "somewhere, out there".
Rare Mary229 Posted October 15, 2020 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2020 Breaches and hacks are never a good thing but notices should spur us to action. I was using a very weak password for that account and I spent a good part of the day changing passwords
NapTown Jim Posted October 16, 2020 #17 Share Posted October 16, 2020 I first learned about the Carnival data breach in August, although they did not disclose what cruise lines were affected. I did have a weak password for my HAL account and that was changed 2 months ago to something stronger.
