I have a cruise booked for May '22.  I checked today and was able to save almost $500 and add a specialty dinner.  Happy, but also a little surprised with all the FCCs floating around.  Always worth taking a look.

not us, unfortunately - cruise increased $ 25 pp before BSE, then another $ 80 pp with BSE

NOTE: we already had a specialty dinner, and no other available cabin to upgrade to

glass still half full about a mid April 2021 cruise 🥃

The sad thing is I don't think that cruise will be happening. With the rate of vaccines happening much slower than expected - I would be surprised if that cruise did go on.

I think my May '21 cruise is a wash, but the optomist in me thinks May '22 is a go.

I’m booked in 2022 for a 13 night cruise. I contacted my T/A about adding this. When I figured the costs compared to the cost of gratitudes to add it it was $68 more so that was a good deal to me when you add the cost of the drink package of $960.

glad to see others are refraring and saving a lot.

2 of my cruises with BSE dropped considerably with a call to Princess at the end of December.

I called and rebooked Dec 31st and saved $600 on one, and $200 on another. I feel kind of bad making the agents go through all that work, especially since I know I'm probably going to be doing it another couple times before sail away. Every little bit helps!

I was booked on the Regal Princess 26-day transatlantic for this past April as a single in obstructed balcony, had all of the perks except specialty dinner (but did have $200 OBC).  Now there's a fairly similar TA in April 2022 on the Crown that's 23 days, missing several ports in Scotland and Belfast in Ireland, and with this new sale I would have to spend over $3,000 more than the deal I had for this year.  I would definitely book if I could get the deal I had on the Regal, but will not book at these rates.

I was booked on that same cruise (same situation single/obstructed balcony) - I was going to get off in France (as opposed to Southampton) and spend 3 nights in Paris. It was a deal. I even got the speciality dinner. It was a great itinerary.

I don't think I will use my FCC. It will expire way too soon and it isn't worth much right now. I will switch to land trips until cruising prices come down.

I did the exact thing for less!  We saved $400 ish on one cabin but the other was $800 more so we left that one alone. 🙂 I also felt bad, but if the cruise is cheaper, and we have a refundable deposit...then why not. I would not book now with a non refundable deposit.

I spoke to rep today re; extending date of FCC. In my situation she said as long as I book before Dec31/21, which is date mine expired & had to be sailed by, they Would extend it. Once it is on a booking you get it. If you just let it sit in your account I suppose it would expire.

Honestly - considering they are not sailing for a large portion of the time that I could use this, they should extend everyone's FCC with out us having to ask.

Thanks for the update.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looked at the prices for the 11/30 Enchanted 10 day cruise on the website, did a "booking" for a balcony using the BSE package. Price was so-so. So I emailed my Princess Planner and asked her what she had, saved almost $1100 (for two) over the website price and we were eligible for a $100 Casino credit too. So we booked it, good enough. I really wasn't expecting that much of a drop in fare, but I'll take it. Also from the search on the website, stateroom availability wasn't huge. Not sure if they are holding back rooms or not.

Since you received a casino credit, maybe your bargain price for the cruise was also due to a casino promotion.

There was up to 35 percent discount & casino OBC offered with the last few casino offers I know about. Maybe that is why price is lower then what is posted on their website. Needed to get the VIP casino email / call them to see if you qualified.

This is the first time getting the BSE in all our years.  My question is are you able to get a small bottle of Korbel, they are under $12?  Also, if ordering Baileys.  Do you only get one shot per drink?  Thanks.
