Am very late posting today.

Happy Mew Year Day to all, such wonderful cat photos, thanks everyone.

A pleasant surprise  this  morning to see sunshine for the first time this year, but raining again by mid-afternoon.  Maybe summer for us will happen soon.

Great to see so many folk now posting on the daily.

Stay safe and well everyone.

I am one of the arrivals,  it, thankfully, the ship has t left yet!  I spent today clearing the filing cabinet and organizing in preparation for getting the taxes done.  This has been my routine for years because we always spent about 3 weeks of January in Hawaii.  Of course that trip is not happening in 2021.

Such beautiful pictures of beloved cats.  Know they are loved so much.  I also am enjoying the travel and ship photos.  Thanks.

Continued prayers for those in need, and hooray for those celebrating.  Have a great evening

So I know it’s not in your backyard, but have you ever had a donut from Doughnut Man in Glendora? They are famous for their fresh strawberry doughnuts ( which should be available soon.) Also, for a brief period around August, fresh peach. They are on Route 66. It’s well worth the drive. We often encountered BIOLA (school rivals) students there around midnight.

When I was in college there wasn’t a student that didn’t know the doughnut schedule. We’d pile into whoever’s car was available. That was when seatbelts were optional. We got something like 7 or 8 in my roommates VW bug. The local motorcycle cop had a reserved parking place next to the side door. ( That’s gone now- a new world today).

Back in the 80s it was called Fosters, and the owner came up with these original recipes. The business was featured on Huel Howser many years ago.

Cool story! I can honestly say that I've never been to Glendora, my loss, I'm sure. Now, I've driven through/past Glendora on the 210 on the way to Claremont and we once helped built our local rose float, pedal by pedal, in, I believe, Azusa. We live in the South Bay by the beach 😉

What a popular place the daily is becoming. I love reading all the posts but need get  an earlier start on it. Great cat pictures even though I am a dog person.

One  more day and we are back on Monday  with the grandkids and online learning.  Have really enjoyed my “vacation” but miss the grands.  Stay well and safe everyone.

A few random observations.  I'm sorry for anyone who might feel slighted by omission from today's shoutouts, but we have so many different patterns it was really hard to choose.  A case in point is @Av8rix who I was about to list as an occasional poster but she's posted quite frequently in both July and December.

I'm not a snowflake, Roy 😄.  In the 11 years that I've been on this forum I've seen very few snowflakes who'd feel in the least bit "slighted by omission".  I believe that's because our demographic tends to benefit from the maturity that comes with our age.  But your expression of concern speaks for your attitude of care and compassion for others that permeates all of your postings.

We are supposed to get 3 to 7 inches of rain.  What’s that in snow!

Depends on what kind of snow it is.  Wet, dry, or powdery 😉 Which is why Roy said between, I think.

Haven’t taken my yardstick out  but I know we got more than they were calling for.  I’m taking a guess at at least 35 cm (just over a foot).  But is sure looks like more than a foot and felt like more than that when we were shovelling last night.  It’s up to Marley’s knees in the back yard and near the top of my tall boots.
