Anthem UK cruises in the summer?

Recommended Posts

Our September 5th cruise on Anthem has had its itinerary changed from the Fjords to Spain and Portugal. Haven’t received an email to confirm changes although contact RC directly, who confirmed its correct. Not sure on any other sailings for September.

September12th has changed to Spain, Portugal and Canary Islands - now the same itinerary as the September 23rd cruise.

Anthem September 23, 2021 was a 9 day to Northern Europe Capitals. Has this been changed as well?

Nice itinerary!

Nice! I would do that itinerary in a heartbeat although I guess you could be forgiven for being disappointed if you had your heart set on northern Europe.

We’re on the 5th Sept cruise but haven’t received an email yet so thanks for the new itinerary posted by Single Cruiser. Not surprised it’s been changed and won’t be complaining even though we’ve visited those ports before, but just curious to know if we’ll get any ‘perks’ for not cancelling eg. extra onboard spend.

Question.   We are US citizens/residents.   I know we would have trouble entering the UK at this time.  I understand Anthem cruises this summer are UK residents only.  When does this rule end?  We are booked on the October 9th and 20th cruises.  Just paid for the first one.  Assuming the UK let's us in, when does the UK residents only rule on the Anthem end?  Getting a little nervous.   Thanks.

Don't know for sure but I imagine once the British Isles cruises end.

Just cruising back into Southampton, apologies for not answering some of the questions but I never buy onboard internet, it’s my time to be detached. Firstly, my test result never came back even though my wife’s did, tests taken at the same time, Eurofins are off my list now permanently. Secondly, drinks package onboard price I have no idea, we sucked up the £80 per person per day and most days broke even by 2pm. Most importantly, it was fabulous, a great trip with great shows and a great atmosphere.

It’s when the Staycation Cruises end which is the end of September.

We are boarding today and if I hear anything different I will try and post on here.

Thanks.  As I think I said we board October 9th.  Enjoy your trip.

Just home after a great few days away. We had a fantastic time and the COVID protocols were incredibly well adhered to by staff and guests alike.

Some technical problems onboard prevented the shows one night but they added on extra the last night to make sure everyone who had reserved still got to see it.

I think someone asked about drinks package... it’s not something I really looked at but do recall seeing a bogo half off in the coffee shop on the first day. Do not have the price though, sorry!

Oct 2nd if the first non-British Isles/Residents only cruise 🙂

Back home now. My PCR test results came back Wednesday afternoon and my OH Friday afternoon! So complete waste of time. We did the test at the port and both negative.

drinks package was £80 each per day and we did certainly abuse it! 😁

We had four fantastic days and nights, the ship is brilliant. To see live music again was amazing, the music hall is well set up with great sound. Go and see the Spectra (spelling?) at the back of the ship, it’s like a crazy cheese dream. It was spectacular, we both really enjoyed it and it is very different. Didn’t have time to see We Will Rock You due to dinners, I love leaving a ship wanting more. Solarium was a great place to hang out.

Favourite restaurant was Wonderland, awesome food, atmosphere and service.

I nearly had to roll down the gang plank, back to simple food!

The art work in the lifts made me smile and being on a ship with only 1k passengers you never had to wait for a drink.

For the future cruisers enjoy! We think it is our favourite RCI ship just missing Central Park.

Did you happen to see if the Coke Freestyle machines were operating as normal?

Masks were required moving around, in lifts etc.

Bars, restaurants, sun loungers etc they could be removed. Everyone was very well behaved.

Interesting that as it was only British residents onboard it was quiet. My OH is Swedish however a British resident we got sent to the naughty passport queue!

No, 5th Sept is the first cruise going to European ports. Spain and Portugal.

I'm booked on the 12th September which was France, Spain and Portugal. They've just changed it to Canaries. There are non-British booked on this cruise.

Just got back home after docking this morning! Didn't have the internet on board so could not update. Arrived at the port 30 minutes before our time but straight in as we had our Eurofins results ( there was testing for those that did not receive theirs). After all the worry before hand it was quite quick and easy to be honest, checked our docs, uploaded our information and we where through on our way onto the ship. When we got on the crew where all welcoming and as we got off the lift to go to our stateroom they where clapping and happy for us to be there. With only 1000 guests it was like a ghost ship to me, I am an early riser and go for a coffee first thing with a pastry, sitting there looking around and am on my own , very surreal but just happy to be on the waves again.

England game the first night was brilliant, we watched it in the music hall on the big screen and everyone watching had their own space so all was good. all the protocols on board where very good, masks on walking around but if sitting /eating/drinking all was normal. In the Casino every other machine out of use for space, restaurants spaced out so as far as I am concerned they have and are doing all they can to accommodate the rules that have been set out.

This morning all was very organised and it was very easy getting off and to our car for the drive home.

It was great to get back to cruising, and am looking forward to book our next one hopefully it will be with more people on the ship and not so many restrictions due to covid, I think Royal Caribbean has handled it well and it can only get better the more they do. On another note the food and drinks , service and overall welcome and attendance from the staff was fantastic.

Glad to hear it all went so well...

May I ask if the slots in the casino will take US dollar currency? (Have a good few left over since last cruise.)

Thanks.
