No Show with Casino Offer

My sister has a cruise booked in June (probably won't sail, I know) on a casino deal - free interior cabin.  She and her grown daughter are both booked in the cabin.  There is a chance that my sister won't be able to make the cruise.  If she is a no show on the day of the cruise, will my niece be charged full price for the cabin?  I tried to do a search, but couldn't find anything.  I would assume that my niece won't be charged on that day since the ship staff has nothing to do with the booking, but wondered if she would be billed full price for the cabin at a later date.

According to a thread last week just have sister be a  no show, later her port fees and taxes will be refunded to the card that paid.

If there are any perks associated with the casino cruise her daughter wouldnt get them. But she wouldnt be billed later either.

Agree that June cruise will probably be cancelled. Others have posted that Casino fare code offer is in her name and she must be present or boarding may be denied to others if she is a no-show. Not a situation anyone would want to happen at the port.

My casino offers clearly state that if the VIFP person does not sail, stateroom partners will not be allowed to board so roll the dice

Idk the poster who said it said they called the folks at the casino offers. They were told they could board, but any free drinks offers would be cancelled.

So since I'm just repeating what someone claims they were told, op call yourself, ...though I'm with you june probably will be cancelled. I cruise solo so dont have to worry.

Where do they say that? I just looked at 5 different offers and did not see that anywhere.

Thanks kwokpot. I did see that but was referring more to the part about the other person not being allowed to board. Says must sail to redeem offer, not that another person would be denied boarding.

The cruise line has a cabin with you in mind.  If the casino player doesn't show, they could well choose to board the 2nd person, in hopes that individual will pay to play bingo, buy photos, purchase drinks, go on Carnival excursions, spend in the spa, etc.  One at the dock willing to sail solo is worth more than 0 sailing in the cabin....?   It seems to hinge on the company's use of the word "may"  (may be denied boarding).

Again 2nd pax boards, says my friend is behind me and will board later.

And if your daughter was going with (you having booked) they aren't going to not let her board if you no show.

They MIGHT.  Hopefully someone who has had it happen will offer additional insight, but I suspect that more money would need to be paid pre-boarding for most of the casino offers where the "gambler/Eligible VIFP Club Member" (not just ANY VIFP Club Member, which my daughter is) doesn't sail.  I say that because often our cruise price is free (just port fees and taxes) and no way would they let her sail free since she only gambles three hours or so an entire cruise.

Other possibilities:  The "extra" passenger boards, then when the casino comped person becomes a no-show, the person sailing gets charged at the going rate for the cabin and loses any casino perks.

Or, since we know how Carnival adjusts their rules according to circumstances, it's becomes a let it stand situation and nothing is done to the rate except for the refund of the no show taxes/port fees, but casino perks are gone.

Probably all mental calisthenics since the sailing isn't going to take place anyway.

Maybe sometimes, but my daughter has observed people in the "faster to the fun" line who didn't purchase "faster to the fun" get told they can't board until the entire party shows up after the agent takes a closer look at the boarding pass.  In fact it happened to her - she couldn't board until I showed up.

We did have this happen Nov 2019 although a little different than what the OP posted. Our son (22 at time) was booked in a room with his grandparents who had a casino offer. So he was the 3rd person and not the 2nd. Needless to say the grandparents couldn't go and our son did. He got the room to himself with no issue or extra charges. He did not get any of her casino perks of course (OBC for room) but he did get some casino cash from his own offer.

That's impressive and makes me love Carnival even more.

And of course there are various scams and cons that might work. Might not. If a good cabin, Carnival could offer to upgrade a legitimate gambler on the ship. One cruise I was called in my booked cabin and asked if I wanted to move to a better cabin. It was a no brainer. It ieven came with gifts that weren't mine.

Quite a gamble for a non-gambler. Do you feel lucky.

Scams and cons? Pretty sure OP was willing to pay regular fare, just wanted assurance they would be allowed to board. Nobody would want to incur the time and expense of traveling to the port only to be denied boarding.

That's not how I read it.
