What about passenger testing?
on recent Viking cruise we were tested daily with saliva test, temperature check and survey.
And this was with vaccinated passengers over 18 only.Felt very safe in these crazy times.

As far as I know they're not doing any of that.

Not happening.

Why should it as everyone is vaccinated.

Make sure she looks at the cafe el bachio menu...They have lots of coffee/ hot chocolate options that may appeal to your Mum if she likes Baileys. Some have alcohol and others don’t. Also some nice tea options. The beverage package isn’t all about the alcohol options.

One of the nice things about a drinks package is you can just try a drink and leave it if you don’t enjoy or order a drink and just enjoy a few sips...Your Mum may enjoy her package more than you expect...

I was going to suggest this earlier but I did some checking and I don’t think the classic drinks package includes speciality coffees at all as it is one of the things that’s mentioned about upgrading to the premium drinks package best to doublecheck.

Well I had specialty coffees aboard the Edge with my Classic package, but there were obvious restrictions depending on the alcohol content.

Does anyone know what testing is happening once onboard the ship?

We are onboard now and half way through our cruise.  We have not been temperature tested or anything similar so far,  but as the pre-cruise PCR testing and double vaccination policy is mandatory, further tests would not seem to be required.

I have to say that we have found everything on board to be very relaxed and apart from wearing masks when walking around the ship and in the lifts we could be back in the real world of cruising as it once was.
Once seated passengers seem happy to remove masks and chat to one another. There is dancing to live music and the theatre shows are the same apart from some seats being left vacant.
The crew all wear masks but the passengers mingle (carefully of course!) and the restaurant tables are set at a distance,  but with the reduced numbers on board distancing is easy for those who wish to be strict about it.
Just to add that everyone is having a fabulous time, so look forward to your forthcoming cruise with great anticipation and excitement … it is so wonderful to be back on board 🍾!!🥂😁

Our daughter is double vaccinated. Got pinged to self isolate and wasn’t happy but good job she did as 2 days later came down with covid and was very poorly for a few days. No underlying health conditions and young.

There is captains club coffee lounge in Tuscan 8am - 10 am every day. There is a welcome aboard event in the sky lounge. The cocktail hour seems to be spread over all the bars except world class and craft social but as most people have the package is probably not important. There is a bookable wine tasting and private departure lounge in Tuscan.

We are booked with the Classic Beverage Package included.  I've today received an email offering a discounted rate for the Premium.  Husband and I both enjoy cocktails, ie Cosmopolitans, Espresso Martinis.  Does anyone know if they would be included in the Classic or should be upgrade to Premium?  Many thanks.

Hopefully they have solved the problem, but last week, 3rd July cruise, there was no menu available on the App for Cafe Al Bacio, and no paper menus in any bars at all. Speciality coffees are included on Classic package dependant upon price, and I know there is one that includes Baileys in Al Bacio. Last week the servers had problems trying to list all the options available as there was no menu to refer to. I do hope they have managed to sort this out now.

The silhouette has spent the last 24 hours, since it left Liverpool, sailing up and down the Irish sea and doing circles and will continue to do so until about 3.45 when it is due to dock at  Belfast. It would be nice if they actually did some coastal cruising so that you can see the coastline from the ship, but I assume this is to keep it in international waters, which I think they need to do so they can open the casino. Would be nice if they threw in a few laps of the Isle of Man though 😁

I accidentally posted this to the 9th July thread but hopefully they know where they are.

Hope they do sort this soon.

We have done a few colder cruises where we have really appreciated an odd ‘warming’ coffee...

I remember one pre cruise asking for coffee recommendations on CC as I tended to stick with Americano’s. The coffee most recommended was an Aspen....Far too sweet for me but I had a great afternoon nap!

Perhaps someone can suggest a coffee for a Bailey loving Mum...

The Aspen is the one I was trying to remember, and that includes Baileys, and Kaluha, I think.

Looks like the magic roundabout! Hope you are enjoying your cruise...If you start getting dizzy with the circles try running the jogging track in the opposite direction....

Will have to look out some of my old photos for the menu at Al Bacio.

The coffee menu is in the Celebrity app under dining, but for those without access to that here are some screen shots of the Speciality coffees section.

To lesser mortals who aspire to become Elite+ what is an Elite+ breakfast?

It’s breakfast served in the Tuscan grill.  Had it a couple of days on our last cruise on the Silhouette and it was excellent - a nice change from Luminae which had a rather noisy and badly behaved child there most mornings 😂 I believe it is being served on the ship currently - I’m sure someone mentioned it.
