Thank you for the post birthday Daily, Rich.  The Fairy is an interesting concept.  I wonder if handshakes will ever come back after the covid epidemic.  I'm not a lap swimmer.  I love the Lincoln quote.  I've sailed both to and from Red Bay but it was on a land trip using the ferry from Newfoundland in 2000,  Did we lose the meal suggestion.  My alternative is Chilled Cranberry Soup and Parmesan Crusted Veal Loin.  I would have enjoyed it on MS Prinsendam June 5, 2015 if I had not been in the Pinnacle Grill that evening.

Today’s care list:

Welfare of furloughed crews

Garlictown difficutl recovery from arm surgery

Western wildfires

Sam’s continuing headaches

atexsix back pains

From the rotation:
Kakalina facing inoperable cancer
StLouisSal’s weakness and fall injuries
Mary229's sister resting after treatment for agressive cancer

Celebrations and Shoutouts:

Happy Birthday Sharon

Front Line Health Care Workers

Jabs for HAL crew at Los Angeles, San Diego and Fort Lauderdale

lindaler’s sister visiting

St. Pete Cruiser on a road trip

Family visiting highland cruiser

@ger_77 10000 posts

StLouisCruiser with family in Ohio

Return of minor league baseball

and Sabine, HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it)

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily Report.

I've never seen a fairy.  I'm not a swimmer but it's great exercise.

Love the quote.

I guess the meal suggestion is whatever I want.  Thanks.

Sending prayers for everyone on the Care List.  A toast to all who have something to celebrate.

Stay safe.

Good morning everyone, thanks for today’s report Rich.  Fairy’s are important otherwise there would be teeth lying about everywhere.  I shook my barber’s hand on Saturday.  Won’t be doing any swimming today.  Funny quote by Lincoln.  I can definitely skip a meal or two.  A banana daiquiri sounds delicious, I’ve never had one before.  Have not been to today’s port so can’t wait to see the photos.  Packing this evening for a vacation to see my mom in northern Michigan tomorrow, first visit in two years. She turned 80 in March but because I wasn’t vaccinated at the time I missed her socially distanced birthday party.  Prayers for all in need of them and na zdrowie to everyone celebrating a happy event today.

Thank you for the Daily today @richwmnand to @rafinmdfor your valuable contributions as well.  Hope the birthday yesterday was special for you!  Happy birthday today to @Sharon in AZand to my daughter who is still asleep upstairs.  She'd better get up soon because DH and I have the car nearly packed and plan to leave in less than an hour for St. Louis.  Another road trip day.  Praying for a little less rain in St. Louis this next week because the forecast doesn't look great for days spent sitting outside watching soccer games!  While there we will be visiting DMIL in her nursing facility.  Hope she has some "awake" days so we can chat with her.  On her "sleepy" days there's no conversation at all!

A fine grouping of days to celebrate today, Fairies, Swimming, and Handshakes.  Nothing to object to there.  A fine menu suggestion and I love the Abraham Lincoln quote.  Congrats to all on the celebration list and I hope our prayers are of help to those on the care list.

Since I don't have a lot of time I'd better hurry to find photos of Red Bay Labrador, Canada.  We were there on Aug. 26, 2018 on the Seabourn Quest on our Iceland/Greenland/Canada cruise.  What a fabulous itinerary!  I would do that again!  I'll try to come back with those photos soon.

Good morning, everyone.

What a beautiful day it is here in northeast Ohio.   While I won't be toiling away scrubbing stuff, I will sit out on the front porch and enjoy it today.   All I have on the agenda is to pick up the water sealer from Lowe's and a pedicure this afternoon.  Today is pamper day.

When I was about 10 I wrote a story about a fairy named Poppy Pine and her trip to visit the Earthlings.  She stayed at the Tulip Town Hotel in the Pink Suite.  No handshakes today and I need to find a new pool to go to.   They have started blasting music at the one I currently attend.  The problem is the acoustics were not designed for that and unless you are standing in front of their amplifier it sounds like a high pitched screech.   I've talked to the life guards about it and to the supervisors and they say they have no problem with it.  Another problem is poses is that the life guards seem more interested in the musical selections than what is happening in the pool.   Takes a lot to get their attention.   So, I walk.  I'm not opposed to music, but I'd like it to actually sound like music.   What I am getting most of the time is painful to my ears and probably damaging to my hearing.  What's wrong with peace and quiet?

Thanks, Rich, for giving me a meal to work with.  I had started a search on meal ideas for June 24 and found a great recipe for a snack.  The lemon garlic salmon looks scrumptious.   I bet it would work with any fish.

Good morning and thanks for the update.

It’s another sunny day here and cool this morning.   I would love to have a banana daiquiri at the mountaintop on St Thomas, great view along with the drink.

I’ve been to the Isle of Man where there’s a fairy bridge, when you cross it , you say Good Morning little people. I’d love to go back there some day.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists

Good  morning  everyone  and  thanks  to  Rich  for  the  Daily. Thanks  to  Roy,Jacqui  and  the  food  and  beverage  department for  all  of  he  information  and  fun  here. I  remember  when  DGD  firmly  believed  in  fairies  and  had  a  magic  wand  to  prove  it. I  often  wonder  if  people  will  ever  shake  hands  again. I  anticipate  swimming  in  a  few  weeks  with  DGD  and  DGS in  the  ocean  if  I  can  stand  the  cold  water  temperature.  I  look  forward to  the  recipe  of  the  day.

We  went  to  Red Bay,  Labrador  on  the  VOV  and  vividly  remember  the  black  flies that  were  everywhere. I  will  have  to  see  if  I  took  any  pictures.

A  very  Happy  Birthday  to  Sharon  @Sharon in AZ! Enjoy  your  day!

@mamaofami, sorry  to  hear  of  Sam's  continued  headaches  and  I  hope  the  testing  reveals  answers.

The  situation  with  our  Tana  continues  to unfold. She  saw  the  Pulmonary Specialist  who  felt  her  disease  process  is in  somewhat  unknown  territory   due  to  the  nature  of  Post  Covid  cases. He  was  hopeful  that  her insurance  would  at  least  partially  cover  the  cost  of  the  newest  medication  for  Pulmonary  Fibrosis  and  maybe  help  deter further  scarring  of  the  lungs.

She  tries  very  hard  to  maintain  her  usual  level  of  optimism  but  certainly  has  her  dark  moments  with  this  huge  life  change. Anyway, we  continue  to  do  our  best  to  be  helpful  without hovering.

Red Bay was the buggiest place I'd ever visited.  Even with bug spray on they found a couple of spots to bite me on the back of the neck near both ears.  My hair was covering it too.  The following day I found all those itchy red spots hiding out back there.

There was a hiking trail on this peninsula that some of the passengers hiked on.  Not me!enhance

A close up of a viewing platform at the trail's end.enhance

A view back to the town from the ship.  All day long there was a whale surfacing in that bay, first along the dock area where the tenders went and then alongside the ship in the afternoon.  Unfortunately he was too fast for me because I never got him in a photo.  Just lots of pictures of the water!enhance

Good morning.  Love the Fairy day. Do not do handshakes right now, and while I float in the pool, I don't do laps.  Sorry about the loud music Debbie, they need to listen to their patrons.  I hope you find another one soon.  The Lincoln quote is great!  Will save the meal for another day, DH loves Salmon but I don't.  I do like Roy's chilled soups.  Have not been to today's port.

Prayers, virtual hugs, and toasts to our lists.  Happy Birthday to those celebrating today.

Please continue to stay safe, social distance, and continue to wear your mask.

Banana Daiquiri:

2 large bananas, sliced, divided

1 cup coconut milk, divided

1 lime, juiced, divided

1/2 cup sugar, divided

6 cups ice, divided

4 ounces white rum, optional, divided

Directions

Good morning everyone. Happy Birthday, Sharon. I’m not a lap ,swimmer anymore, but when I was younger I passed a swimmers test at camp by swimming laps across the entire lake, with a row boat along side in case I couldn’t make it.

The rehab can’t seem to coordinate Sam’s CAT. They have a slot for tomorrow at the hospital an hour away and my daughter found a radiology group closer to the rehab that has the ability to coordinate all the records with the hospital. They have an opening today. Hopefully, that is what will happen. Yesterday, I fell apart when I received a letter from Lexus telling me I had to redo all the papers to extend my lease for the third time. I was on a cell phone with Lexus and the house phone with the rehab  MD at the same time as she was telling me about the needed CAT.

Im off today to the dentist and the hygienist for my cleaning. I had a good nights sleep so I should  be fine driving.

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Love today’s combination of days.  Fairies are magical beings. I will happily swim a lap. And I will find someone’s hand to shake. Most people I know are vaccinated - thank goodness.

Thank you for keeping our lists, Roy. Glad your cardiologist noticed your improvement. Hope all goes well with the therapy, and perhaps even get released early.   Morning Dailyite family. I love Mr. Lincoln’s quote. At first I though Rich was putting us on a diet. 😎 That meal sounds delicious.  Not sure about the drink. It sounds a bit sweet. The sun is just breaking through the marine layer here. A couple of classes at the gym this morning and Happy Hour at a neighbor’s this afternoon. Maybe we will go out to dinner afterwards.

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to the Birthday Girl and all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone!

Dalton 2017 Alma Crimson Red (Galilee)

#78 ENTHUSIAST 100 2020

This Kosher wine 2017 vintage has an excellent rating. Consumer reviews recommend to let the wine breathe overnight to allow it to reach its full potential. I found one online distributor offering it for $23.99.

WE 92

Dark red-violet in color, this wine has aromas of black plum and violet, with the faintest touch of green pepper. It feels good on the palate, with subdued but ever-present tannins and flavors of black cherry, cassis, caramel and thyme that continue into a lively finish.

Good Morning Everyone from a warm and sunny day at the beach

Where would we be without fairies?  No handshakes, I think fist bumps are the new normal. I love to swim but dont do laps.

I have a surprise visitor for a few days. My niece arrived yesterday . She lost her Dad a few months ago and she is a ER nurse in one of the largest hospitals in Boston. She needed a break.  Her wonderful DH suggested she visit me , great idea! So happy to have her with me. Going to spend today on the beach and just relax.

@Sharon in AZ A very Happy Birthday to you! Hope you have a wonderful day and year!

Stay safe and enjoy today
