franktown Posted July 1, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2021 I find that whole area very safe just very full of cruisers. There are literally 50+ restaurants in the area. Just bring up Embassy Suites 17th St. on google maps and search restaurants.
capriccio Posted July 1, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2021 Duffy's Sports Grill (a south Florida chain) is closest. It is located in the Harbor Shops shopping center directly behind the Embassy Suites. https://www.duffysmvp.com/ Kelly's Landing (https://www.kellyslanding.com/full.html) is two blocks north on Cordova and Southport Raw Bar (https://www.southportrawbar.com/ ) is nearby. Across 17th Street and a few blocks east is Boatyard. https://boatyard.restaurant/ Check out www.sunny.org/dining-and-nightlife/restaurants/ for other restaurants.

Reina del Mar Posted July 4, 2021 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2021 Duffy’s Sports’Bar serves good food at a reasonable price. We prefer to sit outside in the sun and on occasion we have been disappointed that smoking is allowed on the terrace..not the restaurant’s fault as it depends which other customers are there. We will return when we are allowed into USA and leaving for our next cruise,

Diver2014 Posted July 4, 2021 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2021 We always eat at Carrabba's on 17th Street because we can just walk there, the food is good and not expensive. That is, if it's still open for business, not sure since it's been a couple of years.
FOPMan Posted July 8, 2021 #9 Share Posted July 8, 2021 Quarterdeck is very, very local with a diverse menu, including sushi (and very good hamburgers). Across 17th from Embassy Suites, half a block west, and a block and a half north, on the left hand side. Outdoor dining is available. The Quarterdeck at the Dania Pier is literally on the pier, on the beach. It’s about an 18 minute ride from Embassy Suites, south past the Lauderdale Airport and east on Dania Beach Boulevard. For food when you need it; The Floridian diner on Las Olas. Bimini bread French toast, Ernie’s BBQ, and caviar. .

Corby114 Posted July 16, 2021 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2021 Ernies BBQ on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale closed approximately two years ago. There barbecue was very good and was a popular restaurant for many years. Their rooftop bar was also very popular too.
FOPMan Posted July 17, 2021 #14 Share Posted July 17, 2021 Ernie’s was owned by the same individual who owns the Floridian. Some of the Ernie’s menu migrated to the Floridian (on Las Olas). I grew up going to First Presbyterian Church, we lived in Rio Vista, and passed Ernie’s daily. For a while, my mother thought that Jacob’s Bakery on Broward Boulevard because the truck was in Ernie’s parking lot as she drove home every day. The driver was just stopping by to say hello to his girlfriend, apparently. (We also frequented Captain Ed’s seafood and Tina’s spaghetti house across Federal).
