We think we passed. No news is good news, I guess. No immigration or customs at all. We never left the US. We were free to go to any of the normal passenger areas but had to deal with heavy doors and loud alarms.

So, how did you get a good dining room table and staff in the Maitre' D?  Do tell what is required these days.  So glad you are covid free and on for another cruise!!!  Good for you guys.

I just got home from our Aug 8th Cruise! I am sorry that I could not get on to answer anyones questions... but I am back and will continue to check this Live Feed if there are any more questions I would be happy to answer them!.

We had a great time and felt very safe... I did not hear of any outbreak on our ship and the passengers and staff were all happy to be cruising again.

I think the casino PTB think people won't gamble if they cannot smoke.  They used to say people wouldn't go to bars and restaurants anymore if they couldn't smoke.  Well, that has been debunked.  Also, table games have been changed to no-smoking and they still have business.  Plenty of examples of people come into casino just to smoke and not gamble.  It's time to kill smoking everywhere indoors, except in the closed off Churchill's which has strong ventilation I presume.

Ditto 👍

If you have booked same time for entire voyage in MC App, you should be getting same table and wait staff for the full voyage.  There was some misunderstanding of new system apparently in early voyages, but this has been clarified with the ship(s) now.  I would hope people who are looking for the TD experience with same table and waiters are now getting that.

They spoke to MD and asked for a table with same wait staff and not move around.

Princess has work to do in order to restore TD to the experience it should be.

That’s what I was told for the July 25th sailing as well. However once on board Tina and Ashwin said it had to be moved. They were going to change it to an hour earlier and to a different location. After convincing them no one would come if it was an hour earlier they were able to keep the same time and moved us to Crown.
long story short your roll call should be prepared for a last minute change once on board.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Just curious, is there a difference between the Marina and Lido decks for those mini in the same area but different decks?

Yes, there's a huge difference.  I didn't go in the one on Lido deck but reviewed YouTube videos of both before I settled on M107.  The cabin is a tad bit smaller on Marina deck but the balcony is significantly larger, in fact, it seems larger than the largest aft suite balcony (and those are huge too).  The Lido deck balcony is more covered and there's very little cover on Marina deck.  I think I may have posted the video I took when we first got into M107 but here it is again just in case I didn't.

Welcome back to AZ! Really appreciate all your reporting during your cruise. 😉

Thank you so much!  Arizona welcomed us back with a dirty pool.  Got it all cleaned up then last night another storm messed it up again.  I think I like your welcome back much better than Mother Nature's!

Our M&G was booked for the VIP Gaming Lounge originally too.  Then a week prior to the cruise I got an email from Princess asking us to move it to Hollywood Conservatory at the same time.  So I posted frequently on our roll call about the change of venue to ensure that everyone knew where we would be.  Well after we boarded I went down to see Tina to give her the invitations for the officers.  And she said "my boss asked me to move your event back to the VIP gaming lounge".  To which I replied a firm but polite "NO".  I explained that I had no way of getting ahold of everyone attending.  I think she was under the impression that we were a travel group and that I was in charge of all of the reservations for the Cruise Critic folks.  I explained the situation to her and she agreed that we could keep it as is.  Hopefully this won't keep happening but as @HaveDogWillTravel said, be prepared for a last minute request!

Thank you @azbirdmomand @HaveDogWillTravel, I'm coordinating our 9/26 M&G...first time doing that!😂  I've always just shown up and enjoyed them...Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated. They have already moved us from the Hollywood Conservancy to the VIP Lounge. We shall see how many more times they move us.  Did you use CC letterhead for invites or name tags? TIA

I didn't use the CC letterhead.  I simply used a format that I've used before for officer invites.  I had the names ahead of time so I typed them in but usually I leave the name blank and print off a bunch of copies and add the names onboard.

As for name tags I go the easy route.  I take the sticky name tags that you can get at Walmart or any office supply store.  And I take a couple of Sharpies, then folks just write their CC name and real names on them.  Very easy.  I have attended many a meet & greet where the organizer handmade name tags and there are always so many no shows that I feel bad for the effort expended by the organizer.  So I have adopted the DIY philosophy.

Here's the format of the letter that I use:

Subject:  Cruise Critic Meet and Greet

On behalf of our Cruise Critic members who are onboard this sailing, I would like to invite you to attend our “Meet and Greet” which will be held in the VIP Gaming area (lounge next to Casino) on August 9th.  The event will run from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Based on the responses to date, we expect more than 50 members to attend.

Should your schedule permit you to share some of your valuable time with us, we would be most appreciative.

Looking forward to seeing you there and to enjoying a fantastic cruise in Alaska!

Sincerely,

My name

There was no Crooners, but we found a wonderful bar on deck 6 - Good Spirits Bar.. and the bar tender use to work at Crooners - so if you have a special drink you like from Crooners he will make it for you.  Deck 7 is Ocean View (?) bar - which we did not like - it did not seem to draw the people like Good Spirit. I tried all the drinks on the menu and won a T-Shirt for my efforts... Can't wait to sail again Thanksgiving week...

@azbirdmomLOL I never even thought to give Ashwin and Tina a polite but firm "No".

@left the dog at home here's what I used.  I printed on some nice card stock and then mounted it on some blue card stock so it looked "framed". I made envelopes on my Cricut Maker out of the same blue card stock.

(I put the CC logo here)

@azbirdmom My wife and I have the Club Class mini suite on the Lido deck that appears to be just above yours  for an upcoming cruise. We'll certainly take lots of pictures of and from the balcony so people can compare. We certainly enjoyed your posts and pictures!

I'm sure you will enjoy it!  The balcony up there is plenty big and I hope you will be able to use it more than we did.  The room is kind of like a shrunken down version of a full suite.  Very nice up there.

You were on Majestic correct?  We would like a table in a corner, away from the crowd due to my husband being at a higher risk.  We did both get the Pfizer shots.

Is Dan Falconer the cruise director this week? I'm on next week and received an email with a quote from DuVaul Gamble, CD. I didn't know if it was a generic email or if the CD was going to change.

That's just the quote they are using as we got the same email prior to our cruise.  Dan Falconer will be on for a while.

I have been on Majestic once, but I have not been on the current voyages and have no plans to cruise in 2021.
