Boarding: so far so good.

Just been to our last show in the theatre.  The first row of seats are out of use.  Every evening before the show someone has stood at the front indicating to others in the auditorium who isn’t wearing their mask properly.  I saw someone from the ‘mask police’ go to one of the high level boxes adjacent to the stage, pull back the curtain and ask someone to pull their mask up.  They were wearing it just below the nose.  Cunard has asked for social distancing on leaving the theatre.  I haven’t heard of one case of COVID and if there has been it hasn’t swept the ship.  I would commend Cunard on their protocols.

majortom and I have tried to give you a flavour of this first Cunard voyage in 18 months.  I thought it might be like a ‘maiden’ cruise with teething problems.  There has been none of that in our experience with many staff being on board for two months to smooth this first cruise after such a long time.  It has been a magnificent achievement by Cunard for which many Hurrahs.  I look forward to being back onboard QE later this year.  It’ll be interesting to see what changes have been to the protocols.  If anyone is listening can I please be boring again by requesting that afternoon tea is reintroduced in the Queens Room?  Bye……….

One thing I did notice is that the dress code for the cruise was formal and smart attire (no jacket/tie required) dont know if this is to become a permanent thing because I have always known jackets to be worn on all evening whether formal or not. On smart attire in Britannia dining room there seemed to be many without jackets and many wearing polo shirts.

Disembarked off QE this morning ,  just looked into CC  and did have to smile , I thought I recognised this photo and my comments.🤣

Nothing much to add to the feed back from my fellow passengers who have already posted in this thread. Suffice to say  it was wonderful to be back onboard, often it was an emotional experience meeting up with many familiar crew members and fellow guests.

Thank You Cunard, you did us proud

Bell Boy, you dog, I should have know that you would be on Cunard's first cruise back. Glad all went well. Dee and I are booked on the May 8th QM2 crossing. Would be great to see you there. Who knows what things will be like in 9 months. Thanks for testing the waters.
