Has anyone been in a Club Suite yet?

I'm wondering about the tubs on the Gem in the Club Suites.  We had a mini suite, probably fifteen years ago on the Dawn,  and I don't remember the tub being too high,  but it was narrow towards the front.    But now that I'm older,   I'm wondering if the tub would be a problem for me now.  Does anyone know exactly how tall the tubs actually are ?    Thanks

The tub wall is very high. The tub itself is very narrow and rounded on the end away from the drain. So you don't have all that much comfortable standing space.I wouldn't recommend them for anyone with mobility issues.

I don't know the height...but there were multiple issues that made them horrible:

I'm short...about 4'11....so that in itself was a challenge

There was no tracton on the floor of the tub...slippery

There was nowhere to hang onto when getting in/out....like a stable door.

This is from memory...about 5 years ago.  I'm not a teenager; I was mid-60s at the time...but I was in extremely good condition (worked out at the gym daily).

My husband didn't have a problem...he's about 5'8"

Thanks cruiserbear55, and MsTabbyKats for your responses.  We have a cruise booked for the end of February on the Gem.   I wanted the Club Suite because of the bigger balcony and more room in the cabin,  but I will have to rethink this.  We were comped through the Casino,  but I may just change to a balcony cabin with the shower.    Like i said,  when I was younger,  I don't remember the tub being a problem.  With bad knees now , I don't want to have to worry about getting in and out of the tub.  Love the showers in the Club Suites on the newer ships!  I don't know who thought these high tubs were a good idea.  The more I read,  the more I see how people dislike them.

I have to admit....,I was warned before that Gem sailing.  I thought people were exaggerating.  They weren't.  Definitely take the balcony/shower if you have bad knees.

Yeah,  I think I will have to switch cabins.   I'm just hoping that by February,  we will be able to sail.  🤞  Thank you

If one of the reasons for considering the Club Suite was a bigger balcony then I would definitely reconsider because unless it is specifically mentioned (ie club suite with large balcony on Breakaway ships) then the balcony will likely be the same size as a standard balcony room.

The balconies in the minis on the Jewel class ships are consistently larger.

club suites are not----repeat after me, not suites, haven or otherwise and do not include any of the amenities that come with the real suite category cabins.

again, a club suite is just a renamed mini suite (with a fresh coat of paint)  sorry. i do believe however you are entitled to book dinner reservations and shows earlier.

all that being said, however, if you are able, i suggest you consider booking a haven if you are looking for all the extra perks. the only draw back is you will never be satisfied with a lessor category cabin

We get it; I I think you have repeated yourself four times now.  And please don't regale us with your Haven thoughts - we've heard it too many times as well.

I am late to the party but I hope someone corrected @complawyer , in the comment about not getting early booking, etc. in a club suite is WRONG.  You can book out dining at 125 days, so less then Haven, but earlier then every other category on the ship.  You also get snacks in room, and access to a concierge.  Having been in a mini suite in the past, it is more then just a fresh coat of paint, but is less then a haven room (better be at 1/3 the cost).  I think it is a good in between.

I know because I already booked out my dinning on my club suite for December, and I did it at 125 days.

So we just stayed in a Club Balcony Suite on Encore last week (Cabin 8136). We received 2 snakes during the week and the cheap sparkling wine...

I hope you said "I am tired of these mother ****ing snakes on this mother ****ing ship!"

How do you get access to a concierge in a club balcony? As far as I know , they are only part of the suite life and above ( club -balcony suite not really being a suite) . We have now been in 9 mini-suites/club balconies and never had access to a concierge.

hulihuli: are you quite through? people keep asking about club suites, so there are still questions about them.. congratulations to you are in order if  you get it. obviously some people dont.

i would hate to book a club suite with certain expectations, then get on board and find out it was just a former mini-suite.

by the way, i havent mentioned anything about a haven suite, although again people are still asking for comments.

i dont know you, you dont know me (are your comments some personal vendetta against me because i try and book a haven)?

I notice you never call out synthgary and he discusses haven suites a great deal more than i do.

so sir, just lighten up.

I am not sure as this is new.  We would need someone who was onboard already.  My cruise is in December, and I plan to try to bid into the Haven as well, so I may end up having no info.

Just off the Encore and no concierge access.

@zerooverideI am curious ….. Did you seek out the services by a concierge (and were denied)  or were they just not made easily accessible , to the club balcony suite guest?

I have stayed in the now reclassified mini suites on the Breakaway, Escape and the Bliss. The added square footage is mostly taken up in the bathroom. Very nice jetted shower (much larger than the usual size of a single closet shower), with a double sink. The only difference now, in the club balcony suites , are the few added amenities. We are staying in one,  for our upcoming Encore trip in November and will be very disappointed if the amenities offered for this type of cabin are not readily available . There continues  to be a lot of confusion surrounding these cabins and NCL should be doing a better job at having available , the amenities touted for them, going forward .

Not offered and not included. Read the list on the NCL website of what is included. It is not really a suite.

I must have been confused, I thought it was, sorry about that everyone.  It is still more then what the other user made it out to be (just a new paint job) since it gives you reservation access early, and snacks.

i dont think being able to make a dinner reservation 120 prior to sailing is an overwhelming perk, sorry, just my personal opinions.

club suites are still just renamed mini suites with a couple to extras to justify the price increase. im not knocking them, i would book one in a heartbeat, i just think potential cruisers should know exactly what they're getting for their money

I was pointing out that they do in fact get to make them earlier then guests in balcony and below rooms, because you said

In post 17.  I was just making it clear to everyone that you can book 5 days earlier than others.  Again, not 120 days, like regular rooms, 125.  I am not sure you are understanding that part.  As for what is an overwhelming perk, you are correct in saying that is your personal opinion.

I have stayed in the Haven and love it, but this thread is about the club suite (previously mini-suite), so telling people the should just go look at the Haven is really not the answer I think people were hoping to see.

i dont believe that merely suggesting they consider looking at haven category cabins is out of line. i dont want anyone to book a club, thinking they are getting a "suite"      and all the accompanying goodies.

the phrase club is just a mini suite with a fresh coat of paint, was just my attempt at a little humor, and of course a bit of sarcasm. if anyone checked ncl website, and truly wanted to book a club, they would certainly be able to figure out that there is more to the cabin than a fresh coat of paint .                                                '
