People stayed in the pool for hours, while others wait for an open spot, due to limited capacity in the pool

Never heard of people hanging out in the pool for very long.

On any given cruise, there is not many in the water anyway.

This happens more often on the Caribbean cruises than in other cruises in different parts of the world.

I have been on 25 Caribbean cruises on 7 different lines.

My days are spent poolside.

People take the chairs around the pool,  but they don't sit in the pool for any length.

Many times it is emptly except for some kids.

I somehow always pick the wrong sailings then. Every cruise I went the pools were always packed

You lucked out then. This is more the case in colder climates and in other parts of the world.

There's a peeing section just like there's a smoking section in the Casino. The pee or smoke stop at a imaginary line.

Do they give people a wrist band for that?

Then try something besides Carnival ......

Well I’d rather sail Carnival than be a snob.

oh btw, I must’ve went to the wrong forum. I will just have to go back to Carnival thread to ask about my upcoming Oasis OS sailing

Sure -- the pool wristband turns red when in contact with P.  The Casino wristband turns black when smoke is in the air.

I’d think they turn yellow for the p

Yes -- you're right -- yellow and everyone out of the pool!  Just trying to see if anyone was paying attention.

Well, as long as it doesn't turn brown..........

If you read the live review on Oasis test cruise this past week a group of people stayed in the pool for 6 hours!   As they limited the pool occupancy to 9 or 10 people but this group overstayed their welcome.

I personally like to dunk in the water then sit on the pool ledge with my legs in the water while lounging and reading but that too is limited to social distancing these days.

Many caribbean cruises I have been on the pool is packed on sea days.

I cannot imaging standing and hanging out in the pool for that long but it is also very rude they wouldn't give up their spot for someone else wanting to enter the pool

Did not see any pool hogging!  Today was probably the most crowded pool areas have been since it was hot and sunny.  People were spread out over all the pool areas.  Solarium was quite peaceful, plenty of chairs also.

We saw them. There were four of them. They were in the pool when we got there. DW and I were in the pool for about half and hour with them. They were at one end of the pool. Never moved. Drinks in hand. Others noticed them. They were in there for several hours. If they continue to enforce 7 in the pool at any given time, this needs to be addressed when in the coming weeks capacity onboard will be about 3000.

What is pool hogging??

Currently  - there  is a cap of the  number of people who can be in a pool at any one time.   I guess pool hogging is someone  who, after some reasonable amount of time ( what ever that is), won't get out of the  pool for others to enjoy.

well if I sat for a 1/2 hr and no one left the pool (remember Oasis does have) but still if I saw no one leaving, I would go over and get in.  Then if approached by deck crew person, I will look them in the eye and say to them "oh you saw me get in but you miss the others not getting out after 1/2 hour".

And then just swim off to the middle of the pool.

see what happens.

Swim off to the middle of the pool?  Like 5 feet away?  That'll fix em.   Lol

Just adding my experience we were on Symphony 8/14-8/21 I didn't even know there was a pool limit since it was not enforced. Granted we only had 35% onboard so never super crowded but definitely more than 9 people in the pool at one time. I think the limit are enforced on the test cruises and then more common sense is used on the actual cruises. I saw the sign for the hot tubs that limited it 5 people and it said should all be the same group and again that was not enforced and multiple occasions saw 5 or more from multiple groups in the hot tub. I can say the limits did not effect our pool experience in any way for the whole week and we had a wonderful cruise even with the new protocols.
