stones902 Posted September 18, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2021 We recently ordered and received our Celebrity issued Rapid Antigen test kits. Since it’s a self-administered test that is “supervised” by a health care professional via video, I am a bit concerned about any glitches that might pop up given the right 48 hour window that we have to produce a negative test. If you’ve used one of these test kits did you have any issues getting a live person on line to walk you through the test? Thanks in advance! Rare Turtles06 Posted September 18, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2021 There are many threads and videos about using these kits; start with the one linked below, in the Celebrity forum. (And to be clear, the kits are not "issued" by Celebrity; Celebrity and RCI have merely created a link to one of the on-line vendors, Optum, for folks to purchase these test kits. They can also be purchased on eMed.com, the folks who actually proctor the tests.)

cruising in mn Posted September 28, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2021 It was easy peasy! Hubby and I did ours at the same time, make sure to donwload the Navica app. You call in from your phone, its not a Dr, its a live person though. It truly was very easy. Since its using the phone, not data, there should be no glitch's.
jelayne Posted September 28, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 28, 2021 The tests don’t come from Celebrity, they provided a link to a supplier. The test is proctored by eMed and they are available 24/7. The vast majority have had no problem but a few have had kits that had problems ( solution bottle dry or solution just fizzed) . We ordered 6 kits from eMed and split them with another couple who live near us so we each have a spare. We are also booking appointments for tests just in case.
RichYak Posted September 28, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2021 I ordered a 3-pack to have one extra test kit, just in case. Like @jelayne, I'll also be booking afternoon appointments at a nearby CVS--again as a backup. If all goes well with the home proctored tests in the morning, I will cancel the CVS appointments. So you had 1 video chat and both you and your husband were able to get it done in 1 shot deal? Thanks!

LJJQ Posted September 29, 2021 #15 Share Posted September 29, 2021 We are presently on the Summit that left on 9/25 from Miami. We did the drive from NY visiting friends on the way & booked the antigen test at a CVS in Orlando for evening of 9/23. We had the results by both email and mychart in less than 15 minutes . Checkin at Miami was so fast and we only have 245 passengers. Tomorrow cruise at this time has only 170 passengers all vaccinated. The crew is tested each week and have been 100% covid free!
