Hawaii from San Francisco in mid March - what is weather like on the crossings? Thanks!!

Honolulu to LA in mid June was freezing!!! Sat on pool deck in pants/long sleeves and with a blanket, to read!

Could be cold the first couple of day, and last couple. Could be rougher. 

 

Always warms as you approach Hawaii.

From LA to Hawaii and back in March was pretty cool and had some rain on the sea days.  We probably won't do this type of cruise again because of that. I would think it would be cooler yet from San Francisco.

Of course approaching Vancouver in May would be hitting cold water - the California coast never seems warm anywhere north of Los Angeles any time of year.  We sailed RT from San Diego to Hawaii in February and had ideal cruising weather both ways.

I considered that the air temperature would be cold. We enjoyed our day in Vancouver and it was pleasant. What I did not fully realize is just how cold the wind would be when the ship was moving. We still had a good time. Luckily the cruise line scheduled many indoor activities over the sea days.

We've done LA to Hawaii and return and SD to Hawaii and return several times; last time was March 2020 just before the shutdown. The first couple of days are cooler, but it warms up quickly, same thing coming home.

We did Vancouver to Hawaii in 2019.  First few days were cool and seas a bit rough  by day 3 was in shorts, total bliss day 4 onward. I would plan on some warmer items as you approach the West Coast
