Well, it's here.  And I don't think it's leaving any time soon.  The snow began around 4:30 yesterday afternoon and although it wasn't coming down hard, it continued throughout the night.  There looks to be about 4 inches of it on the driveway - thankfully there wasn't a strong wind with it, or we'd be dealing with drifts.  As it is, I think it's a fairly wet snow, but we should just be able to use the shovels to scrape it off the driveway and sidewalk.  There won't be any lifting involved, as it looks pretty heavy  . . .  heart attack snow.  We spoke with friends who live about 3 hours from here who said the snow began in the early morning and by mid-afternoon they had at least 10 inches with no end in sight.  So glad they have a young neighbour with a snow blower.

Oh crap, Gerry 😡. So sorry to hear it’s there already.  I hope it warms up and melts but I know that’s unlikely 😔

I can’t do all the cooking so will be ordering from a caterer.

I am so glad to hear this.  Your plate has been full and that would be far too much work.  So relieved you are letting someone else do the cooking 👍

Good afternoon on a sunny 66°F day in Spain.

Thank you for today's daily Rich and Roy for the various lists.

Interesting days today.

We will celebrate remembrance Day in church on Sunday and the whole congregation will go to the village green for a service at the war memorial for 11am.

Nice food and drink.

Prayers for Roy at his first radiology session today and for everyone on the care list.

Take care.

Graham.

Good morning.Happy Veterans  Day and Remembrance Day.

@kazu, I too had tears when recalling your post about Juno beach.Thank you for that.

My father and all 5 uncles were in WW2 and my DB was in Vietnam  in the Navy.I salute all of those who have served.

I will pass on the recipe and I doubt anyone would even try it!Today there is vegetarian  chili for the crew with delivery for Tana later on in the day.

We were in today's  port and just loved it.We were at water level like Debbie but her pictures are far superior. I love the one with you in the waterproof gear @dfish!Norway is an extraordinary  place.

@Horizon chaser 1957,My condolences  on the death of your BIL.Even when expected, it is so hard to get news like that.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Good Morning All,

Our thanks to all veterans.

Today I visit Dad, and might take him to our local hamburger place where they honor veterans. I’m sure he will be one of few from WWII. Not sure if there will be a conflict with the Veterans Day program they produce in his community.

We were in Geiranger on Prinsendam on her fairwell cruise in 2019.

Love origami. We attended an exhibition at the Japanese Museum in LA some 10 years ago and I learned to fold penguins in time for my Antarctica cruise. I had lots of fun folding them and leaving them for others. And flocking the ship.😇 A few years later, a colleague took the same cruise and a coworker and I folded a bunch, broke into her office and flocked it.

I'm back!  It's a cloudy day but it's supposed to rain so we have no big plans.  DD texted asking if we could send photos of her grandpas in their uniforms, so we found some and sent them back.  Not sure what the plan is for the photos but she is a teacher so perhaps her students were asked to bring photos of their family members serving or who have served in the military.

I thought we'd had Geiranger as our port before, but no it was Geirangerfjord already posted here.  No worries!  It's such a neat place.  Debbie, yes it is cold up high on Mt. Dalsnibba!  Snow still on the ground in late June.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJKHvPasA_kniAovOzfccbR?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1468073116

On our way up the mountain I saw this tourist enjoying the snow.  Maybe she'd never been in snow before!00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJ2s1AgyXwN54gdNlHQiEae?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1468073019

Speaking of snow, what a shock to have that first snowfall, right @ger_77?  Your chili dinner sounds good.  I don't think I'd like the menu suggestions for today, but @rafinmd's dinner on the Prinsendam sounds great!  If only that were possible...  And @cat shepardwarm thoughts to your friend as she copes with her cancer and treatment.

Thanks once again for @richwmnfor our Daily and @rafinmdfor the list keeping.  Prayers for you as you begin your radiation treatment today.  Prayers also for the list of friends and family needing them.  Cheers to the celebrants too.  Interesting group of days to celebrate, a silly quote from Roth, the drink is a solid no for me, but the champagne sounds great!

And the ship earlier today was the Pullmantur Monarch, formerly with Royal Caribbean International.

Have a great day all!

OK, I'm back.  Going to do some other things before I will post more but the session went pretty well.  Pretty much every day, Mon-Fri until Christmas.  @kazu I will be sending an email to family and resources.  No need to post that info here; I'll do that a bit later.

Good morning, all!  Roy, glad the treatment was quick and you are back.  I'll certainly be saying prayers for you from now until Christmas that all goes well.

Yum on the Veuve Cliquot, and that recipe looks interesting, I'll save it, I might be able to use it for vegan DS and his partner.  Vegans are such a bore!

Great day today here, we just got our invitations to sign up for our boosters.  Dr. Bonnie is on the ball - we had figured we would be waiting until mid-December.

We had a great trip in Norway on the Ryndam in July, 2013, with DD, and we had a Neptune Suite, which was a real treat.  We had amazingly good weather, I think it only rained one day on the whole trip.  Geirangerfiord was beautiful, and we just wandered in the town.   Loved the sod roofs!

There was one tour that went up this switchback road.  I was happy not to have done it!

Good morning all!

I took DH for his 2nd cataract surgery, now waiting for the call to come get him.  Hoping today won't be a repeat of last week's fiasco of wrong information and confusion.

Yesterday's memorial service for my cousin was lovely, and so nice to see my cousins from all over the country.  We grew up together in Bellingham, and now we're all spread out.  So thankful for the good weather to drive (DH couldn't go, he had to quarantine before today's surgery).  It was almost surprising to see Canadian license plates on the road after not seeing any for so long!  Usually up around Bellingham almost half the cars are Canadian.

We were in Geiranger in 2019 on the Nieuw Statendam  and will be again next July.  The first time we did the Dalsnibba road tour, and in July we hope to do the RIB (thanks @dfishDebbie for the referral!)

My photos are pretty much the same as have already been posted, so will just post a couple.

@Horizon chaser 1957I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your BIL.  Prayers and hugs.

@rafinmdRoy prayers your radiation treatments continue to go well!

Roy, I just pray that each day is as simple as today until this is all done. You will be in my prayers.

Singles.  I think of all the singles living alone and how hard that was during the last 18 months. My brother is alone too so maybe I will call and talk for a bit just to say hi even if I will get a chance to visit during Thanksgiving.

That's a very nice idea.  I'm sure your brother would appreciate a surprise chat today.  👍

The pictures of Geiranger remind me of a movie I watched on Netflix.  It is called The Wave and is the first Norwegian disaster film.  It is about a tsunami hitting Gerianger.   It must have been somewhat good as it held my attention.   I think it was the picture of the hotel that did it as the hotel if featured in the film.

I would happily celebrate Veuve Cliquot particularly at happy hour on a BHB.   We enjoyed Geiranger and the trip up Mount Dalsnibba.

Our church sent 1000 origami cranes to Hiroshima,  I’ll show some photos as we remember today. A lovely Japanese women gave me one in the elevator on our Westerdam circumnavigation of Japan cruise.

That is a lot of radiation. I pray that every session will go we4ll for you.

Singles Day. I guess that applies to me as I have been widowed for 6 years now.

BLT Cocktail. Who on earth would spoil my favorite sandwich by making an alcoholic drink out of it?

Kakalena is finally having her Brain MRI today. Please pray that the cancer has not metastized to her brain. (That seems to be her greatest fear).
