And who puts there wallet in the back pocket when traveling or ever??
Rare blueslily Posted December 4, 2021 #27 Share Posted December 4, 2021 I like getting change at home before leaving for any traveling. Just my preference. I like limiting any additional steps during travel that I can take care of in advance (when possible).
Merion_Mom Posted December 4, 2021 #28 Share Posted December 4, 2021 @crazyank - well that was "delightfully" rude. I am thrilled that some of you have had no problem getting as much change as you want. I am not fabricating my MULTIPLE experiences of being told "no" to a request for 20 one dollar bills in exchange for a $20. I am not fabricating that I have been told that it is "the rule" from "my supervisor" that "I can only give you ten." I have said, "but I would like to use those one dollar bills for tips", but the answer has still been, "I can only give you ten."

We've never experienced anything of this sort. Maybe the "borderline nasty" is a result of your attitude? On several occasions when attempting to change large denominations into smaller ones the cashier's have told me that there is a mandated limit that they can exchange. This has happened at Guest Services as well.

Except all the bartenders are cashing in their ones to get larger bills.
Seville2Cabo Posted December 4, 2021 #32 Share Posted December 4, 2021 I do bring lots of ones and fives, but when I run out never had an issue changing a twenty for smaller bills at Guest services

Going to the atm is just a wasted extra step. My bank knows me. When I ask for 100 ones, they ask what cruise I'm going on.🤣 2
not-enough-cruising Posted December 4, 2021 #36 Share Posted December 4, 2021 I have a locking “bank bag” that stays in my carry on. Keep it stocked with all denominations, some in large quantities; not a hassle at all to carry around, and one less thing to worry about onboard. Any time I can avoid waiting in line is a good thing.

Can I do this onboard? Thanks The casino will do it.

I have had issues with getting smaller bills on ships in the past. Personally I bring $200 in singles, then $200 in 5 & 10's. We just got off our 39th cruise earlier this week and I have never had a problem even once getting smaller bills from guest services on any cruise.

Bailey & Sophie Posted December 5, 2021 #41 Share Posted December 5, 2021 We only had a problem once. We had 3 sea days in a row and we were limited on how many 1's we could get until they could get money from the bank the next port day.
