For those booked on Koningsdam and Zuiderdam cruises scheduled to visit Hawaii (in the next few months anyway), HAL just sent us the following notification.  Unfortunately still no updates to our itineraries, which we know are coming.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION We look forward to welcoming you on board for your cruise to Hawaii. Please be advised that the State of Hawaii is still revising its protocols and it is very likely that they will soon require fully vaccinated guests who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster to receive the booster at least 14 days prior to arrival in Hawaii. If you are eligible for the booster, we strongly recommend you obtain one in advance of your cruise.

All guests must register at the Hawaii Safe Travels website (travel.hawaii.gov) prior to your cruise. Fill in your personal information, enter your cruise information in the "Trips" section and upload your proof of vaccination in the "Apply for Exemption/Exception from Quarantine" section. A QR code will be emailed to you. Please print or save this code to your mobile device as you may be required to present it to disembark the ship and while ashore in Hawaii. You will also be able to access the QR code on the Safe Travels website. For more information, please visit https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/faqs/.

We are probably on different cruises but you can go to HAWAII.PORTCALL.COM and pull information.

I suppose not set in stone...

This schedule is now showing on the Navigator app and the HAL website for the 1/16/22 cruise.

This revised itinerary received from HAL by email late yesterday, East Coast time. Sorry we will miss Kauai but I’m glad the shoe has finally, officially dropped.

This AM, we we contacted by HAL by email with a whole new itinerary for for the Knningsdam Jan 16 sailing.  Guess what? It is the itinerary listed in the Hawaii and Catalina port websites.  Worst part (actually fairly typical) was that yesterday I talked with a "resolution specialist" at HAL about this very thing and was told they were aware of the issue and it was a problem with Hawaii having the wrong info.  Less than 20 hours later, they published the new itinerary.  Of course, they scheduled the Santa Catalina port call on 12/16, and the other port calls have been in place for months.  Bottom line: They just lied to me.  And they are still listing the now defunct itinerary on their website.  They have changed my booking to the new itinerary but if you book this cruise at the last minute be aware that you are dealing with "truth challenged" people.

By the way, we are HAL 5 star with 600 actual sea days.

Can you list the itinerary as we are on the February version of the same cruise.

never mind, I thought they were the same but they are not.

Just looked at the HAL online site and it does show the revised itinerary. At least they did not do what Viking Ocean did with their December cruise to Hawaii - they cruised along the Mexican coast!

I wonder if the updated Level 4 "warning" from the CDC will further deter or impede Hawaii's reopening efforts.

It certainly won’t help.  At this point I am expecting Hawaii to say let’s wait until the end of March and look at it again.  Just a guess.

I received an email from HAL yesterday saying that they expect Hawaii to require that everyone have a Covid Booster shot at least 14 days before arrival and urging me to get the Booster now.

I had been on the Jan. 16 Hawaii cruise but unfortunately my travel buddy had to cancel as her hospice wouldn't provide her with enough medication for that long of a cruise so I cancelled also..

Would not be surprised with the number of cases occurring on the islands together with the length of the cruises, 15 day vs the shorter 7 days cruises in the Caribbean that are having problems.

Newest I have seen from Hawaii blog...really glad cancelled this idea of a cruise to Hawaii...

The state is pondering what to do next on a day when it just reported by far the highest number of new daily Covid cases ever: 3,484. Hospitalizations are also up over 100% in the past two weeks as Hawaii hospitals requested FEMA aid, and while still low compared with earlier in Covid, this appears to be just the beginning.

Well they better say it quick as the first cruise to Hawaii  (PRINCESS) leaves Jan 2nd.  We are now going to cancel our HAL Hawaii cruise for JAN 16th 😢,  but waiting to hear if Hawaii cancels as that might affect if we get full refund or not. We have the premium HAL travel insurance  but I think we would only get 90% back if WE cancel. I haven't read the fine print..... yet.

We just received our Hawaii Safe Travels QR codes by email this AM.  The email also stated that the Health Questionnaire is no longer required as of today.

Now if the Grand Princess actually departs for Hawaii later today I will begin to feel like the Jan 16 Koningsdam cruise will actually happen.

The first Princess cruise is today, Jan 4, not Jan 2. And, there is no indication they are not sailing.

Code received this morning as well.  Fingers crossed.

Given the protocol options list specifically for cruise passengers, does this mean Hawaii is not extending their ban?  I Googled it but could not find anything new.

It's hard to get any definitive info right now...very frustrating....but with HA and Princess cruisers receiving their QR codes this morning - and - as of now, the Princess cruise scheduled to leave today has not been cancelled - I see this as good news.  We shall see.

Cancelled my cruise yesterday afternoon, received the email with my QR code this morning. Not afraid of getting COVID, but the prospect of spending part of the trip in a quarantine cabin or of getting to Hawaii and having them refuse to let us dock, is too much uncertainty for me. Received FCC but could have switched to April 10 or October 8 sailings instead.

Which sailing?  We have lost quite a few on our scheduled February sailing on the Zuiderdam.
