Casino staff said it is too soon to know what will happen for your trans Atlantic. I wasn’t able to meet with the casino host but I talked to other staff members.

There was no meet and mingle on this cruise

Thanks. No change on either which is pretty much what I expected. Everything else seems to have reverted to the situation as it was for all cruises from the UK last summer and those cruises worked out fine. Have a great trip.

For what it’s worth I’m on Edge right now using the included/surf package and can use Cruise Critic just fine. TikTok works but not youtube/other video as expected. I also cannot make voip calls with WhatsApp or Signal. No complaints though!

I think the wifi systems on the different shapes are all different, so I’m not sure that your experience on the edge translates to what they have on silhouette

Following along! We are due on Silhouette in Feb. Currently on P&O Azura in the Caribbean and there have been so many changes to service and food.

Is the silent disco still a go?  We are scheduled to board the Apex on Jan 29 and my friend loves the silent disco.

Not sure yet.  There are no DJ’s on board….both are holed up in hotels in Miami so presumably they tested positive on the previous cruise.

I am on Silhouette Jan 14 and 24; back to back. Can you tell me if the gym requires a mask; specifically when on a machine like treadmill. And must a mask be worn while getting a massage? Also, once seated in a restaurant, it's masks off for the duration of dinner I assume?

I will try to ask about the gym, it’s not somewhere I would normally go.

In general what I have found is that once people sit down in the dining room or café Al Bacio they take the masks off while they are eating and drinking or for the remainder of their time at the table.

I’m sorry, dont mean to be difficult but how do i find #32 in this thread.

There is a message number top right of each message.   Hit the back page until you get to the page with that message.

It would seem the suite are not at 100%.  Recently it seems like Celebrity has been maximizing the Retreat guests.  Or perhaps it is full and they are assigning less cabins to each steward. (Not dedicated to suites).  The personal retreat host might be a different story.

How is the revised Retreat Lounge after the upgrades?  I was in the minority, but I always liked the old Michael’s Club.  I will admit that the Retreat Lounge on the Apex was a fabulous multi function area including outside seating.

Enjoy your cruise.

Love the Retreat!  We’re on the sundeck as we speak and we have one couple 15 Ft away. Nobody else close. I don’t think either of the suites on either side of ours are occupied.

Can you tell me if the mask requirement includes the Solarium?

I just walked through the solarium and masks are a hit or miss item in there this afternoon . No one in the pool or any hot tub was wearing a mask. About half of the people on loungers were, and some were clearly nursing their waters or IcedTeas but others didn’t appear to have any drink nearby them. No one was sitting close to anyone else.

Thanks.  Sounds very nice.  Enjoy.  How is the revised Retreat lounge/bar?

I have just walked through what has been the most crowded place so far, the martini bar, where every seat is taken and conversation is lively, a notable change from the general quiet elsewhere, including the casino which has no players at the tables and only a handful on the slots.

I do understand that the sky lounge was crowded last night during name that tune, which was interrupted by a party of drunks sitting at the bar who insisted on shouting out the answers.

I have no idea what you will run into on the Apex, but here on silhouette there will be silent disco tonight at 10:15 poolside

I love the silent disco and am so glad to see they are still having it and it is in an outdoor space!  Thanks again for your updates!

This is in the category of excruciating minutiae, to steal a phrase from Seinfeld.

And it’s also an example of how much “theater “is taking place.

In Café Al Bacio they no longer have containers of cream and half-and-half on the counter next to the sweetener packets. If you want cream in your coffee, one of the baristas will put it in for you.  If you ask them why, they say it has to do with having passengers not touching surfaces that are shared. However, if you go up to Ocean view, you will find containers of half-and-half and cream next to the coffee dispenser for all and sundry to touch if they wish.

On Silhouette in August and September there were no self service drinks  in the Ocean View.

We have self serve in Oceanview but everything else is served.

Afternoon update. The captain said we now have “a few” positive cases among crew and passengers.  But no specifics. I find that disturbing and a serious lack of transparency.

Rumors have now started up because of cancellations on Royal Caribbean, with four ships losing one or more cruises.  Is this March 2020 deja vu? Stay tuned
