Hi when we were onboard Queen Elizabeth we wanted to book 2 week transatlantic but it was full so we booked another cruise so we would get $300 onboard spending each and were told we would be able to change if the cruise we wanted became available it has now become available but they now say we cannot transfer onboard spend has anyone experienced this

If you put a future cruise deposit down while onboard QE, $300 pp OBC should be applied to whatever you book. Who is telling you it can't transfer?

travel agent says Cunard is saying can't transfer

That would be in line with their current policy that the OBC only applies to trips actually booked on board, and not allowing Future Cruise Deposits. But, if they told you you could, even mistakenly, they should honour that, obviously.

I was not told in a mistake he knew his job he quite categorically told us that we could move he even booked a fake one for December so as I could move it for my 60th Birthday cruise when new brochure comes out

We had 2 trips booked that were subsequently cancelled. Both had good amounts of OBC, but they were lost. However, we did get the +25% on our deposits, and rebooked with a lot less OBC.

It wasn't FCD related.

I booked onboard in November nothing to do with cancellations

That is why I am annoyed as it is $1200

We had a cruise cancelled by Cunard a few years ago, because of engine problems (QV). Even though they cancelled it, we lost loads of obc when we were transferred to a later cruise. We tried argueing but got nowhere.

We have also transfered to another cruise, having used fcd to book the original. Again, we lost lots of obc.

I think it is always the case that they won't transfer obc. At least in the UK.

You can no longer buy FCD's onboard anymore you have to actually book a cruise onboard to get the extra onboard spend.

Think it’s time to forget Cunard Customer Services (oxymoron) and register a complaint, in some detail, to

Sounds unlikely to me. Changing your cruise as often as you like, yes. Taking the promotional offer which was specific to the cruise you booked, no.

The future cruise specialist quite categorically told us that we would be able to change and still get the onboard spend that we got for booking onboard not the money that comes with each cruise as that varies which I totally understand it may be more or less for the cruise we change it to

This is not correct.

Well we were on QE in August 2021 on her first Seacation in the UK and tried to buy a FCD for future use and was told that they were no longer available and is a permanent decision not a temporary one. Again spoke to Future Cruise Sales on QE in November and was told exactly the same. On my return home I contact Cunard and was told that it was correct and they are no longer available the only way to get onboard credit bonus is to actually book a future cruise onboard.

Think you have misunderstood I did not book a FCD I booked to go on QM2 my first choice was not available and FCS said I could book my second choice and if first choice became available I would be able to swap over $300 pp plus whatever new cruise was giving as onboard spend my first choice has now become available and we have booked it to be told we cannot get OBS

I have not misunderstood my response #11 was to fourmile.ranch #2 who suggested putting down a FCD and I said that they were no longer available.

This may be a difference between US and UK passengers, as I showed with our email we put a FCD of $300pp while onboard QM2 and the OBC will be applied once a trip is booked. We did not book a trip onboard.

Well I was told by Future Cruise Sales in August and November that FCDs had now been discontinued by Cunard and were not available for UK or USA passengers in the future in fact was told any passenger wherever they were from.

It is terrible how we are all told different things

That clearly wasn’t the case in December 2021 for @fourmile.ranch as he has supplied incontrovertible evidence to the contrary. On a positive note, maybe they've been reintroduced.

It is not the first time I have had issues with Cunard about why US cruisers seem to get better deals than UK cruisers. I queried why it is normal practice or at least very often that cruisers from the US who book QG/PG suites get a free drinks package and gratuities but it very rarely if at all gets offered to UK cruisers booking the same suites. The response I got from Cunard when I queried this was corporate nonsense and gobbledygook with no genuine answer.
