jeep1 Posted January 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2022 Question getting on Sky tomorrow. Staying at Hilton across from ship. Can you walk directly to ship. Looks like you follow road through the construction area? Anyone tried that route. Thanks in advance
ProfMHC Posted January 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2022 We did two years ago but there was no construction at that point. Took no time at all! Hope it still works….
sailaway2joy Posted January 7, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2022 We stayed there a few years ago. They had a free shuttle at that time. Check your front desk.
MissP22 Posted January 7, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2022 My husband often walks back to our car in that area when doing a B2B to jettison dirty clothing but be warned, after you make a few trips the cement will wear out the wheels very quickly. Not that they can't be easily replaced but they do have a free shuttle if you don't mind the wait.
Buckeye10640 Posted January 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2022 Stayed there last month. COULD you walk, probably. But it was like $6 Lyft ride, or the hotel had transportation for a little more. We felt it well worth the price to not need to drag our suitcases down the sidewalk 🙂.

skynight Posted January 7, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 7, 2022 If the ship is at pier 2 you can walk if you want. You will be able to see the entrance when you get to the hotel. While pier 2 is directly across from the hotel, you have to walk up the street to access the pedestrian entrance.

(right across the street from the hilton) You can walk, but you need to enter the port on eisenhower blvd.
Upper Bob Posted January 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted January 7, 2022 We stayed there last month (December 9) and were told that you could not walk into the port area (berth 2) due to increased security. The construction on the new hotel adjacent to the Convention Center also prevented the more direct access. It would be a fairly long walk with luggage having to go up to Eisenhower Blvd and then over to SE 20th St to the main entrance (.7 miles). We took an XL Lyft for only $9 to the drop off site inside the parking structure.

Triptkr Posted January 7, 2022 #12 Share Posted January 7, 2022 Absolutely! We stayed there December 19th for our December 20th cruise. Shortest walk and super easy. There is a nice paved road (going through the construction and in front of the new convention center/Omni hotel) with a sidewalk that makes for a wonderful short cut. We couldn't figure out why no one else was doing this.

And besides that, going your route is shaded a lot of the way compared to Eisenhower Blvd.

MJC Posted January 9, 2022 #17 Share Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) This is from the CB in November. There is a big fence around the construction site for the convention center. The Sky was across the street when we arrived the day before. Edited January 9, 2022 by MJC
