Day 7

Bonus treat!  I had the pleasure of putting a face to the name and said hello to Mr & Mrs SNJCRUISER at dinner.  It was so great to have had a chance to say hello!  Safe travel home and enjoy the Mardi Gras!  Hopefully I will get a chance to see you both on another cruise and spend some time to chat!!!

Thank you so much for coming along!  Hopefully you will be able to make it back on the APEX soon to enjoy the ship all over again!

We don’t have anything booked on Apex at this time, but we’re booked on the Beyond ‘s repositioning cruise from Bayonne to Ft Lauderdale in October 😃

20 cruises on Carnival since 1986 and currently have 5 booked on Excel Class ships.  It's not negatively at all, it's reality.  There are many that cruise on Carnival that reinforce the mantra that Carnival is the Walmart of the Seas.  Many card carrying members of the me first society that think nothing of pushing the envelope and breaking the rules whenever possible, smuggle on booze, chair hog and remove tips.

We were offered a free Carnival cruise via their casino match. Choose 14 days to Hawaii--thought perhaps we would limit the party crowd somewhat. We aren't terribly picky. We have enjoyed all our cruises (Princess, RCCL, DCL, NCL & Celebrity) & would sail all those lines again. But my expectations are low--I'm happy to relax my 14 days away in the sun...

I usually don’t follow these threads with so much info on a cruise. This thread was incredible! I felt like I was dining with you each day and surprise, did not gain any weight!
I have started a letter to Celebrity to suggest they hire you to go on each Celebrity ship to write reviews and have Celebrity offer  you free cruises; or are you already doing this 😀!

Really? No offers on your account either? That is a lot of money to gamble and not have a free room offer.

Our past experience with BCC is they don't give out comp cruise certificates at the end of a current cruise; that's something we've experienced on Royal and Carnival but never Celebrity. BCC doesn't even want to tell you how much comps you've earned; it's like pulling teeth. The exception was the casino host in the Apex - we've forgotten her name, but she was always forthcoming with information and she even gave us the Sapphire benefits immediately after my husband made the new tier.

The on board cruise certificate is something new.

Just like all your others, these pictures have been amazing.  Your review has probably been the most comprehensive I've ever seen. Thanks so much for taking the time to do it, to answer all our questions - no matter how many times they were asked. 🙂  So glad you enjoyed your cruise.  We wish you a safe journey home, and may our paths cross someday.  😄

Was a pleasure meeting you as well.  Need to ask though....how many apps did each of you enjoy tonight?  My wife doesn't eat seafood and is kind of picky, but I easily could have enjoyed at least two if not three of the apps.  Both times we were there multiples were not offered. 😠

If we were not already booked on the repo cruise on the NCL Prima at that time from Galveston to Miami we would be on it.  Unfortunately, it's not being done in 2023.

That's a safe assumption.  The longer the cruise, the less chance of problems.  14 days to the islands or a European cruise would be great choices.

Really?  WOW!!  I am surprised.  Did you ask?   At Eden each time  we each had three apps, our own lobster entrée and shared the crispy branzino which was amazing and then tried multiple desserts.  We wanted to sample the entire menu 😝.  At FineCut we had multiple apps as well and the server brought us a crab cake we did not order and insisted that we try it.  The server also let us create our own surf and turf at FineCut and sent desserts back to our room.  Too much food but amazing!

Amazing.  I would have had what I had and added the filet and mini short rib wellington.  Oh well.  At fine cuts on our first night I had the lobster tail and lobster ravioli and our server insisted I make it a surf n turf, so I added the 6 oz filet.  I should have been more aggressive at Eden...kicking myself now, as usual hind sight is 20/20.

Once again, it was a pleasure meeting you and I'll get back to you with our feedback about the Mardi Gras.

My favorite main showroom show in 37 cruises.  Favorite overall was the Beatles tribute band in the Cavern Club on the NCL Bliss.

My favorite cruiseship shows:

Burn the Floor on NCL, Studio VIP on Carnival, We Will Rock You on Royal,an older show on Royal with Flamenco dancing

BennyBrun (& nod to SNJCruisers supporting cast), SO enjoyed this TR!

We cruised the Edge for 2 weeks last summer & hopefully will be on the Apex in March.

I notice your CD was on the Edge last summer--and I am wondering if the 4 main show vocalists came along with her. In looking at your show photos, I SWEAR it is the same 4. Curious if mac_tlc thinks the same (or mac_tlc you will have to see for yourself soon!)

Our Edge cruises were very special for a variety of reasons but I may be underestimating Celebrity & E-class. AMAZING!

Benny,

As others have said, thank you so much for the amazing review and for taking the time to answer all our questions.  This review was outstanding and has made us truly excited about our upcoming Apex cruise.  So sad to see it end.  When is your next cruise , ship( want to follow that one as well)?

I hope you travel home safely before the snow storm hits.

Day 7

Eden is the restaurant that you should seriously consider trying!  It is an amazing experience that you won’t forget.  We liked it better than Fine Cut!

Thank you for this awesome review! We will definitely be trying Eden, looks amazing!! I’d it the same menu all the time?
