Non-Refundable fare...

Recommended Posts

Our Alaska cruise in June final payment is coming up end of Feb, little over a month away.

TA quoted that we'll (20+ cabins for our group) save $200 by changing our fully refundable booking to non-refundable & save $200 (all balcony cabins) per cabin.

Since most of us have already booked flights & hotel rooms for 3 nights before cruise,

Is this worth it?

Any risks of changing to non-refundable rate...?
Thanks,

Well it is non-refundable, but I believe that only applies to the deposits.

Are you leaving out of Vancouver or seattle. Last summer there were issues you probably know with canada.

Final payments could be moved to 30 days out for your cruise but otherwise of course there is always a risk. ..someone cant go, could be any of you.

Right now cwc extended thru sept so worse comes to worse you should be able to book later if you have to cancel.

Sometimes I book refundable and then change to non refundable, as the cruise gets closer. It is usually a savings of $150-200 off final price. I actually did this on my Alaska cruise in May. You also might want to check with TA about date of final payment, as Firefly mentioned. My cruise in May final payment was moved to Apr 4, 30 days before.
