We saw the Effectors again last night. It was even better the second time.

I believe that was the current cast member's last time on this ship.  New replacements being trained right now.  At least that is what Mitch mentioned at Top Tier.

We each received ours on the January 23rd sailing

On Harmony?  I am due the 700 square block from December (Plus the stratum), and then went to 770 two weeks later.  😮  Did not get either block.  May have to talk to Elizbeth when we return in May.  🤨

All I want is one of them.  Don't need a duplicate.  And still no Pinnie free cruise certificate either.  😞  But I think I can call C&A to use it...they can look it up.

Yes, we had the option to receive it onboard or have it mailed.  Received a letter in the cabin giving us the options that we turned in to the LA

I 'hear' you on that. Those Pinnacle Pods can get unbelievably noisy.

Probably the reason we got the boot from the SL. Suite guests rarely congregate in huge numbers

ya know when I was on the May 2019 Ovation OTS special sailing and new to Alaska Vanc-Seattle, they had the highest amount of c/a member on board as of that date.  They had to have two separate meet and greet to accomodate everyone.

So a couple of times I stopped by the  lounges and it was wall to wall people looking rather bored but guzzling their free drinks.  I left because it did not appeal to me at all.

I enjoy meeting various Pinnacles around the ship and quite a few while wearing their pins, are quite humble and some do not even drink alcohol.  They also like me felt that the lounges can sometimes be boring or also too loud.

I never got that letter.  But could have been due to on board upgrade.  I think a lot of our mail went to the pax that received our JS as an upgrade.  😮

We have been enjoying just going to various places for happy hour to enjoy our vouchers.  Favorite is still Giovanni's wine bar.  🙂  We do hit the Music Hall when it is not loud with Bingo or something else going on.  The DL does not appeal to us at all.  But good spot for coffee...when the machine is not broken.  😮

I am still just Diamond with D Plus soon around the corner so I am not sure if I qualify for vouches, but I have noticed that when at specialty dining and I order a glass of wine, I get a discount.  I am guessing that is in place of a voucher?

Maya Key was not the same as usual.  There are a lot of changes that happened due to Covid challenges hurting the island here.  We still enjoyed viewing the rescue animals (but even those numbers are down)..and had a great island picnic lunch of local favorites, plus good Margaritas!

But now they are bringing multiple ships in to the tiny tourist island (which is about a 10 minute float boat ride from the Odyssey pier).  Two large ships are at the other bay, one being Carnival, not sure which the other one was.  They had staggered times for lunch for each ship, and the place was much more crowded than normal.  Lots of Carnival towels evident there.

You will have four vouchers available per person per day for being a diamond.  Drinks are to the limit of 13.00.  Once you hit D+ you move to 5...then 6 at Pinnacle.  Even if you are in the DL...you are required to use your vouchers.  No more unlimited free drinks at happy hour in the DL.

Not sure I follow you.  Jersey Boys is not a show on Odyssey.

oops..I meant the"Journey" impersonators that had been on last week.

But I think I may have figured out why the volume was so amplified....there were a lot of older cruisers and perhaps RC thought they may have been hard of hearing. Since my DH and I were younger than most of the cruisers and we have very keen hearing, the volume affected our ears to the point that it was irritating and intolerable. Stuffing them with kleenex balls and then covering our ears did help us get through some of the shows. The Music Hall was the worst!

The really good news: we now know what the quantum class is like and we never have to go on that class again. For those who enjoy the music blasting in your ears, Happy Cruising!!

okay well good to know.  Then when I was in Jamie Olivers, they gave me the discount without the voucher but used my room key.

There was also the option to decline it totally but that wasn’t going to happen.

Yes, you still get discounts as well.  Not sure what the discount is for Ds.

Maybe someone declined it for us.  😳  Will get with LA mid May when we return for another B2B.  Or...maybe those pax in our vacated JS (we upgraded to GS...then OS) got our block!!  😮

That's disappointing to hear. I was really considering that excursion for our Symphony cruise in September. I would not like it if it was that crowded.

Definitely not the same.  You may get lucky as to the only ship there...but...I probably won't book it again.  Shame, as we have done that tour 6-7 times now and always loved it in the past.

RCI loses money on me.  I rarely drink alcohol and never bingo or casinos.  I like the discount on shore excursions that NCL gives up front and wish RCI would give discounts on shore to us Diamonds who do not drink.  oh and I hate bottled water too. yuk.

You're going to write off an entire class of ships because of one cruise?  Was there something besides the loudness that you didn't like?  I'm not trying to be snarky (too much) since I'll be on my first Quantum class cruise in a few months.  I'm interested in all opinions on that class of ship.

Anthem was great, different than other ships, geared for indoor activities.  Some entertainment was louder than others but I think that is the sound guys problem!

I agree it is the sound guys problem.  I enjoyed Odyssey, other than the extreme sound level.  I wear hearing aids because I have what is classified as severe hearing loss, and the sound was still loud to me even after turning them off.

i did not think soda counts.

wish I could use at starbucks. but still wishing shore excursion discount as well like NCl does

Yes, soda counts.  My wife would would only get one or two adult beverages a day, and then a soda or two.  They would show up as being charged against the vouchers most of the time.

We want to go back to Tap Factory.  Loved that one as well.  🙂

Saw the virtual symphony concert last night.  Tech effects were so good, you could swear (almost anyway) it was live in front of you.  A lot cheaper than going to the real concert.  😄  Was hardly anyone in there.  But then again Effectors was going on at the same time.

How was the volume

Had a nice chat with him at breakfast in CK this morning.  🙂  He admitted he pretty much makes the same speech, but makes sure he only lists the good changes. Said he knows he could list more, but it might take too long.  😉

I have heard about Mario for years but have no idea what he looks like so I don't know if I've ever seen him.  Any photo?
