The reserved seats are not the best in house but good enough.

I haven sailed RCI in many years.

Why bother with reserved seating if the seats are lousy?

If I qualified to that section I would just show up & select a decent based upon what was available at they time.

FWIW I still want loyalty OBC as cruiser and dividends as investors and said so ... crickets but I expected that

We're not likely to be seeing dividends anytime soon if greedy people keep expecting all kinds of additional freebies.  I'd rather see the freebies curtailed until they are in a position to issue dividends again.  As a side benefit, I bet there will be less 'elites' sailing anymore thus eliminating the need for an Elite+ tier.  Win/Win.

Be careful of what you ask for.  Most businesses that offer loyalty perks are going by the amount you spend, and you have to requalify each year, or lose it all.

Maybe it'll be spend  $5k per year and sail at least 3 times per calendar year to maintain status.

After the last two years, that would certainly eliminate the high number of platinum and elites.

I agree but, I also think it should take into account the cabin type as well for each of those cruise days.  One can spend 3 to 5 times as much for a balcony or minisuite than one booking an inside.

Now you're getting too complicated. Next will be who has more specialty dining, who spends more in the stores, casino, spa. My guess is you book suites, fair enough. My wife enjoys donating to the casino. Dollars is Dollars, no matter where you spend them.

Frankly, the perks aren't why I sail with Princess.  But, if they start to take away my ease of enjoyment on my cruise then I'm gone.  I just want to get what I'm paying for.  🤷‍♂️

I think that you have lost sight of what a perk is.  You don't pay for perks, perks are a treat above and beyond what you pay for. If you get it, great. If not, no loss.

If another level were to be introduced it certainly wouldn't have to include hundreds of current elite cruisers but only a very small percentage of the top. If that were the case then why bother at all?

It would certainly be nice to have another carrot to aspire to after reaching an upper level.

Is it the carrot that keeps you coming back? I cruise by itinerary, friendliness of the crew, cleanliness of the ship, on and on. Losing a $50 or $100 perk is a disappointment, but a long way from a game changer.

That's not what Daniel meant. His previous posts stated that he didn't wish to lose his access to things he had expected due to people getting perks, and essentially affecting his cruising experience.

Very true,

P&O part of the carnival group already restricts the benefits of their top two tiers depending upon the numbers of day cruised in the previous three years.

Benefits could be given depending on how much has been spent onboard on previous cruises if Princess wished to be mercenary.

Someone who had experience in marketing once said that a cruise company was more interested in enticing third rather than twenty-third bookings.
